Dal Moro's Byward Market Square | Fresh Pasta To Go — Restaurant in Ottawa

This place is a total SCAM!!!! My partner and I were in the Byward Market looking for some comfort food to take home with us after a long day. We were excited when we discovered a takeout place claiming to serve up fresh pasta. We placed an order for the "Pesto" and "Aglio, Olio, e Peperoncino" pasta dishes and were told it would take about 5 minutes. We grabbed some drinks while we waited and our order was indeed ready in 5 minutes. When we got home, we took out our dishes only to realize both dishes had absolutely NO flavourings on them (only completely plain pasta). We immediately called the shop and they said they would call us back to figure out a solution. After 15 minutes, they did not call us back, so we called back. They said they were disappointed that this happened to us, and could offer a refund. Instead of refunding us over the phone promptly (which would have taken about 2 minutes), they said that a manager would call us back. We understood if it was busy and we were ok with that. After another 20 minutes and no call, we called back only for the manager to tell us that the owner would call us back. Another 20 minutes passed by and we called them back. We asked when we should expect a call and he said "in about 5 minutes." We never got a call back, and when we called them back, it went straight to a voicemail that had not been initiated by the client, so we couldn't even leave a message. Being absolutely famished at this point, we decided to dig into our dishes and were even willing to forgive the whole fiasco so long as the pasta itself was good. Simply put, it was INEDIBLE!!!! The pasta was rubbery, bland, and even hardening in spots!! You could honestly make a better pasta dish with ingredients from the DOLLAR STORE!!!! PLEASE do not tell me this is fresh, home-made Italian-style pasta. As someone with Italian roots, this is a total DISGRACE and INSULT to my background!! It's now been 48 hours and still no call back (or even an apology from the start). Do yourselves (and everybody else in Ottawa) a favour: KEEP the money we wasted at your shop, cut your losses short, and don't embarrass yourselves in this business any longer! Dal Moro's??...

I came here when it opened up after hearing so many people talking about this place. I went with a friend, and we both ordered an Alfredo and it was the worst pasta we had in our lives. We had to throw out half the box we each had. We ate in the small diner they have - wouldn't recommend it for sitting in. Go to a park or something. The place is smaller than a NYC apartment! I didn't want to judge the place then because maybe they were having an off-day, but they did have a lot of people, indoor was full and there was a line of a few people after us.

Many months later (this past week), we came back on a Friday night and every other place nearby was packed - thriving byward market! The only, and I mean ONLY empty place was Dal Moro. Since I have not been here since the launch I wanted to see if maybe they had changed, so I ordered a different menu item, the "AMATRICIANA". I went with a friend and her and I both hated it. Once again, worst pasta of my life. We weren't drunk in either times so maybe that's why. Who knows, maybe that we lacked.

It's not even cheap pasta. It's about 10-15$ for the worst pasta; you can go to a pizza place that has better pasta, or hell, just make it yourself.

Safe to say, we won't be...

First time last time ordering from this place we place an order through an app never got the food said it was going to be 45 minutes and then apparently was Delivery I've never got never received I decided look at the surveillance camera the driver was clueless where to Delivery went up the road down the road then decided placed it in front of the door then came back took a picture and then came back again and then took the order the Delivery guy kept my food is this a joke. also never got a refund on the order it was about $75 of pasta food and didn't get any response from the place give a call to see what was going on with my order instead the answering machine they have is not fixed up to leave a message.service is bad take my money and can't even get ahold of them I will never order from you guys definitely order because this is not good customer service I should be able to receive my food if not refund me I am...
