I am so disappointed in Green Rebel. I have been waiting for this location to reopen, and really wanted to try it out, as I live very close. Being vegan I ordered a tofu bowl, they were out.. no worries I ordered a vegan Ceasar. They were also out of smoothies, but had a really small selection of pop and water and juice in a cooler which I accepted. At this point I was just excited to try anything. It came to the point of payment, the final blow.. They don't accept cash. I work in the service industry, and pay for meals and coffee with cash. I think a business that postures itself as being rebelious wouldn't be on their knees for big banks. Why should I pay my bank a fee because you decide not to take cash. This trend needs to stop, you are marginalizing people that do not want to pay with cards, and it's really gross. I really, really wanted to love this place, but I ended up going to the competition literally down the hall, and had a great vegan meal paid fully in cash,...
Read moreWell let me start by saying I used to be a huge fan of Green Rebel (Queen Street location) but since moving to the other end of the downtown core and going to the Kent Street location, I have less than favourable things to say about it. It is lacking in customer service (the woman who makes the salads over the lunch hour might want to at least try cracking a smile once in a while). Not to mention, "what happened to the quality"? $13.50 for a feta chicken salad that contained lettuce pieces that were mushy and black (couldn't be more of a turnoff), stems from romaine that have turned brown on the ends, barely a scoop of feta and when I asked if I could have extra dressing, she gave the salad the regular one second squirt and dared me to complain with her ungracious stare. Last trip to this location. I've given it four tries and each time it was the same outcome. I have decided to post this because it is obviously not a "by...
Read moreThis was my first Green Rebel experience, and I have to say that it wasn't that great... Like others have said, they were out of one of the ingredients for my bowl, but they also forgot to put all the toppings on it. I had to go back twice (no joke!) to ask them to put on two different toppings that they had just not bothered to put on my Falafel Bowl, even though these ingredients are clearly listed on the menu board.
For almost $15 for a salad, I expect all the ingredients to be in the bowl and not to have to stand there and cross-check the contents of my food with the ingredients listed on the menu. Or at least a decent apology...
The food was good, and I appreciate that you can reduce your waste by ordering your food to eat in, but the service culture definitely needs...
