If I could give this a zero star rating I would. This has been the absolute worst service I have ever had. My waitress never told me her name but she had blonde hair. I don't even know where to begin. First off we had a reservation at 8pm we arrived on time and as we were sat we were greeted with our server saying right away that they are doing last call in 2 minutes and they close at 9pm. I work in a restaurant and last call is typically 15 min before closing. She was extremely rude and I stated that we had just sat down and needed a few minutes with the menu and she stormed off. She then returned 1 minute later and said we need to order and I ordered appetizers and the hostile attitude just got worse and worse. My steak came out cooked wrong very undercooked I asked for medium well and It came out medium which is fine I sent it back. I was given an apology from two other staffs and when she popped up she clearly saw I did not have my food but my partner did and she said nothing to me about it and I said my steak was cooked wrong in a polite way and she rolled her eyes and left and never returned to make sure I got my food nor did she give us any more water then the small glass in the beginning and she saw we had no drinks. She then left and did not return for 30 minutes and returned to say we are closing now when the entire restaurant was still very much full I told her I wanted to pay and she continued to storm off and not return for countless minutes. This was my first and LAST time ever coming to a BR I thought that this was a high class restaurant or good quality at least and I am so disappointed. Please if you are coming to this location do not let her serve you. She did not even deserve the tip that I gave her but I gave her the benefit of the doubt but now seeing so many reviews about her with the exact same things that happened to me I am regretful that I honoured that. Everyone else was kind but she is the worst server I have ever had. I will not be recommending this...

I was there tonight (a Saturday night), and the service was really a let down. We'd made a reservation for 7pm, as we knew it would be busy due to it being a Saturday night in downtown Ottawa. We showed up about 5 minutes early, only to be told that they'd made several reservation for the same time and that it would be a half hour wait. We had a confirmation text message confirming our reservation, and yet, no message telling us that the reservation would be delayed. We were happy to learn they had a table for us earlier than expected (this was about 10 or so minutes into the wait), so we followed the hostess nearly to a table for her to turn around and apologize to us, as somebody else had apparently sat a group there. So it was back to the host station to wait some more. A few minutes later, a man who was likely the manager (by his clothing and demeanor), let us know there was a table for us. However, he was clearly rushed by everything that was going on and it came across as gruff and admittedly a tad rude. We did however have a table only 15 minutes after our reservation, so at least there was that. Then our server was very sweet but clearly rushed. The food, although it took a little long to get to us (which we really didn't mind as we'd been expecting that with a busy Saturday night), was thankfully fantastic. We were only a group of 2 (my partner and I were there celebrating our anniversary, not that we ever got the chance to mention it to anybody there). We were not offered a discount, a free anything (app/dessert/etc), or even barely a sorry for the inconvenience. I didn't ask for any, as that's not my nature, but I felt it should be mentioned here to note that they weren't exactly overly apologetic.

I've worked in a restaurant, I still tipped the server well as I know it wasn't her fault her section (as well as every section) was likely over-sat, but the overall experience was a huge let down for celebrating our...

Couldn’t have worse experience than this one at any restaurant. Specifically will not advise any person with food allergies to visits this place! We were staying at Hilton nearby so called ahead for wait time/reservation/ anything else specific. We had checked the online menu and knew what to order to avoid any last minute delays specifically with kids. Was told to come with family and nothing else was specified (about table or food). We arrived within minutes and front desk made us seated (again nothing mentioned). As soon as our waitress arrived, I asked for menu card but instead a limited 3 course dinner option was dropped in front of us carelessly. We were clueless trying to understand what was going on. After some time our waitress came back, I asked again for menu but she must have been in a great hurry... took maximum 30 seconds to explain- no regular menu today/ only limited 3 course meal option for valentine day! Well we didn’t wanted to go somewhere else with kids so decided to stick to the waitresses ‘final verdict’ of take or leave! When we started ordering, I asked for allergen menu of limited meal as my kid has life threatening allergies. I’ve never come across such a insensitive person regarding allergies compared to that waitress! She refused to bring it, when we insisted, she said it’s online and our job to check it!!! Then went on stating, ‘she assumes’ there’s no allergen in this dish, compelling us to it! Am I expected to take her assumption and go ahead to eat food that might have allergen and endanger life. No mention of - to go and talk to chef/ to make sure check the allergen/ or courtesy. On top she kept increasing her pitch, pressuring us to order quickly or leave. We did what any family would have done to stay safe and left for another place. Felt bad for some time as I’d good assumption about this restaurant name which didn’t stand to its name,...

On a brisk evening, in search of a meal near my hotel, I ventured into Bâton Rouge with a craving for ribs. This restaurant caught my attention not only for its convenience but also for the ambiance it promised. Upon entry, I was greeted by the spacious interior, where the decor stood out as both pleasant and thoughtfully arranged. Despite the establishment buzzing with activity, the staff managed to accommodate me swiftly, an effort that did not go unnoticed. Service throughout the evening was courteous and efficient, striking a balance between attentiveness and allowing space for an uninterrupted dining experience. However, it was in the culinary execution that my experience dipped slightly below expectations. My order arrived with impressive speed, a testament to the kitchen's efficiency on such a busy night. Yet, this rapidity seemed to compromise the dish's temperature; while the fries were perfectly hot, the ribs themselves were only marginally warm. The flavor was there, rich and satisfying, but the lack of heat in the main component of the meal somewhat marred the overall enjoyment. Bâton Rouge, with its inviting atmosphere and capable service, positions itself as a reliable dining option. However, the experience highlighted the importance of consistency in both service and food quality, especially when it comes to delivering dishes at their optimal temperature. This visit was adequate, yet it leaves room for improvement to truly match the potential its ambiance and service suggest.

BR has such a great atmosphere that is gets you in the mood for the wonderful drinks and food. We have been using BR as our family celebration restaurant since 2015, and we have no disappointments. Our out of town family always ensure that we have meals planned for BR. Tonight was just another one of many of those suppers that was Nana and her grandkids. They are teens with sophisticated tastes and who always include BR when we debate where Nana is going to set the table where the food comes to the table prepared, and healthy! Dinner this evening consisted of Cavaliere d’Oro Gabbiano a wonderful Pinot Grigio, Ruby red mocktails, and calamari. 11/2 rack ribs, chicken tender platter, and short rib seafood pappardelle. Dessert was a sumptuous chocolate cake and creme brûlée. All outstanding in taste and presentation. Our waiter was wonderful no long waits for restaurant processes like taking orders and delivering quickly and pleasantly. Our only complaint had nothing to do with the restaurant it was difficult to enjoy our meal when there happened to be about 10 women who forgot they weren’t in their dining rooms and insisted by their voice volume that we were to be included with their conversation because they conversed and enjoyed so loud that we became uncomfortable!

Baton Rouge just served me a large size McDonald’s fries (love McDonald’s fries. I know them well) along with day-old Chinese food chicken balls that had been microwave-detonated into a bizarre batter explosion. It was truly a sight to behold which is why I broke the code of non-hipster humans by taking photos of my food right there in the restaurant. This was absolutely not edible. When the waitress finally returned she pointedly asked “Would you like a take-home container for that?” To which I replied “No. I can’t eat this.” One may have thought that would evoke a follow-up question of sorts. Such as “Why can’t you eat this thing my restaurant called food?” There were no follow up questions. None. The waitress simply presented a bill and offered zero apologies for the day-old chicken balls. Best advice: Don’t eat at Baton Rouge. This was literal trash as far as I'm concerned.
