Prepare yourself for a pleasant surprise

I work in the downtown core now and have access to many new and different options for lunch that are all walking distance. Every Tuesday for the last month I heard my co-workers say taco tuesday ($1 off tacos) so I finally decided to try this place out, courtesy of the Ritual app. I decided to try the campechano tacos for my first visit. 2 tacos for $9 seems a bit much, and at first sight that was the impression I got when i received my order. Just wait till you bite into these things, you will be surprised as the meat serving is quite generous, theres a huge chunk of barbacoa and carnitas hidden under the fresh and and tasty garnishings. The ingredients complement eachother very well and give a taste of authenticity, although the meat was slightly bland, the other ingredients more than made up for that. The house made tortillas put the tacos together delectibaly and made this taco taste like I was in Mexico. I also added a side of homemade guacamole (i love guacamole and make it at home all the time). I felt the guac was lacking, it was chunks of avocado as oppose to fully mashed avocado, and it didnt include the usually ingrediants liike tomatoes, onions, cilantro. And at that price point they shoud include a side with the tacos rather than charge extra for it. I am looking forward to trying their...

I have been to Toro twice - once for just treats and today for lunch and treats and each time the service and food were wonderful. There was a mix up with my treat order on my first visit and when I mentioned it today while being cashed out by the owner, she was apologetic and offered me the item I originally wanted for free. She didn’t need to do that but was very kind enough to. I appreciated the gesture. The treats are delicious - can definitely be shared as the portion sizes are big. So far, my favourite cookie is the lemon cheesecake. I had the crunch wrap today and I enjoyed that as well. The portion sizes are good for the price you pay. I will definitely visit Toro again and will recommend this restaurant to my...

When looking for a caterer for a work lunch, I fell upon the Torro Taqueria website and noticed they had catering options. I had not heard of Torro previously. Located on Bank, I walked over and spoke to the owners to ask if they could cater for THE NEXT DAY. They were able to help me out. They prepared us a Build Your Own Taco Station for the office. IT WAS MORE THAN AMAZING. The staff could not stop saying how DELICIOUS the food was. Every ingredient was packaged separately. Very easy to lay out and prepare. The owners are amazing people. The food was amazing. The set up was amazing. If you want to support a local business - its this one ! I HIGHLY recommend Torro Taqueria! Will be going...

I decided to pop by today for my lunch and try three different tacos. Pictured from bottom to top is the Pollo, Carnitas and the Barbacoa. They also have a salsa bar, which has at least different kinds. The red I put on the Pollo, Verde on the Carnitas, and Chimichurri on the Barbacoa. All were pretty good. I wish they had toasted the tortillas, or did something to keep them warmer. Of the three, I very much felt the Carnitas was the best. Punchy and full of flavour. I recommend that one. The other two were ok. One sticking point is that it can add up in price, but it's a nice treat every now an again.

A good place for a small bite for a higher price. 5/5 environment 6/5 customer service 5/5 music 4/5 $$$ 5/5 flavourous food I was surprised by an ad on my Instagram that showed the opening of a new restaurant. I was intrigued so I brought a friend and we degusted the menu. Frijoles and picadillo tacos( a small bite), and Barbacoa in a bowl on chips(small size meal) were tried. We really enjoyed these meals. We even had the nice team members and owner come and ask us how our meal was! The only downside to the experience was the price. It may have only been a problem because I am student on a budget.
