My recent visit to Pajo’s at Rocky Point in Port Moody was a delightful experience. The setting is absolutely stunning—nestled right by the waterfront, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a meal while soaking in the beautiful views of the harbor. I ordered the 2-piece cod, and while the batter was a touch soggy by the time I got to it, the overall quality of the dish was still commendable. The cod itself was fresh and perfectly cooked, with a flaky texture that paired well with the flavorful batter. Even with the slight sogginess, the taste didn’t disappoint, and I could tell that the ingredients used were of high quality. The portions were generous, and the classic combination of fish and chips hit the spot. The fries were crisp and well-seasoned, complementing the fish nicely. What really makes Pajo’s stand out, though, is the atmosphere—there’s something special about enjoying your meal with the gentle breeze from the water and the scenic backdrop of Rocky Point Park. Overall, I would recommend Pajo’s to anyone looking for a classic fish and chips experience in a relaxed, picturesque setting. It’s a great spot for a casual meal, and I’d definitely return, perhaps a bit earlier next time to enjoy the fish at its crispiest!

The weather was ideal for a picnic, so we headed over to Rocky Point and unpacked our camping chairs with excitement. In front of Pajo's Fish and Chips, a vast expanse of grassland beckoned to us. We were spoiled for choice with delectable classic options such as fish and chips, burgers, and tacos! Our order consisted of the scrumptious Halibut Fish and Chips with coleslaw and ginger beer. The staff handed us a receipt with our order number, and we found a place to sit before returning to pick up our food. The service was remarkably fast, possibly due to it being a Wednesday and not crowded. The staff brought over our food on a picnic tray, which instantly added to the joyous atmosphere of our picnic. The handcrafted ginger beer was refreshing and had a mildly sweet taste, which I personally enjoyed. However, the coating on the fried fish was rather greasy, whereas the chips were alright. This venue is an ideal spot for a family picnic since it has a playground and water spray on the side to keep the children engaged.

What a catch!! I LOVE the fact this joint is 100% Vancouver Aquarium Oceanwise Certified and only sells sustainable seafood which was the reason for visiting here, they also have a great selection and range for veggies too! All cutlery is compostable or recyclable and they have a great selection of condiments. I was stoked to see they also have hot sauce. The tempura-style batter is great, no greasy aftertaste but all the flavor. Fish and fries were super yummy, incredibly flavorsome and a knockout lunch for a sunny Saturday, they made our day! Portions are very plentiful and incredible service with a smile whipping up great grub in a down to earth, no fuss and fantastic water-side restaurant. I also opted for a second piece of cod which was extremely fresh, juicy and flavorsome and great value. Fingers crossed for my review coming out in their dope Google Review's seasonal draw! My family and I have been comjng to Pajos since 1986. It is a long time family favorite . Not any longer. The burger tasted like something that came out of a fozen box at the grocery store and you get about 15 fries. We used to be able to share the fries as a family of 4. Thats what the holes in the tables are for! To hold your newspaper cone full of fries! Not any longer. When ordering my meal I asked if I could have my onions raw as I have done EVERY time for decades.....the man at the til snapped at me and said "we dont do raw onions here you can have caramelized like everyone else!" My son asked for the everything burger without mushrooms to which the man rolled his eyes and said " so you dont want the everything burger than" Then the man behind me who ordered asked how long it would be and again the man being very rude said "15 mins do you want it or not!?" Another customer asked if the fries were bottemless now since they are now quite a bit smaller portions and again very rudely the same man laughed at him. (They had only been open an hour so not like he had a long hard day at work already for those of you thinking maybe he was stressed) Like I said our family has been coming here for decades. 5 generations of us in fact but not anymore.it used to feel like a family place like we were going to Aunties house for supper. Everyone was always so friendly and kind and the food was delicious. Not anymore. We had so many friends over the years work here and it was a wonderful place to have on your resume. This new ownership (I was told) is an embarrassment. We drove here from Merritt (where we now live) to have lunch with some friends again because it was a favorite . We used to hear all of the "mmmms" and "did you try this its fantastic?" All around us. This time we heard alot of complaining. We will not come back. Thanks for ruining a childhood memory. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Change is fine if its positive.....sir you need a...

My wife and I stopped in for fish & chips on the way home from Coquitlam Cente this afternoon, and we both so regret it! We have eaten here many times before over the last several years; but this experience was terrible. We both ordered the 2-pc cod & chips; but the fish and batter were totally undercooked; so I took our orders back to the girl at the counter and explained that the fish was undercooked (kind of like jelly/slimy). She took the two orders from me and brought them back to the deep fryer area and spoke to the young men working there. About 7 or 8 minutes later a man come to the counter with a container holding 4 pcs of deep fried fish and started calling out some number several times. After a couple minutes of nobody coming forward I asked him if this was to replace the undercooked fish that I had brought back. He asked a girl; who asked another girl and finally they determined that this was my replacement; but no chips....I guess they just dumped out the two orders and for some reason didn't think they should replace the whole order (i.e. including the chips)? After a few more minutes they gave me new containers of chips. The staff were rude in the sense that none of them apologized for the undercooked fish or the way they mishandled refilling our orders. There were three older ladies sitting next to us and they all complained to each other (and us) about their fish being undercooked and the batter as well; but they didn't take their orders back to the counter (for whatever reason). Anyway.....$30. later and two queasy stomachs has turned my wife and I off of fish & chips, and especially from Pajos at Rocky Point...

Our visit on April 26, 2025, was deeply disappointing both in terms of service and food quality. Here's why:

Service Issues:

Staff displayed visible annoyance when requesting hot water for my elderly mother Unprofessional attitude when discussing menu options about halibut and fries Dismissive responses when questioning their "bottomless fries" pricing structure Overall unwelcoming atmosphere, especially concerning for seniors Food Quality:

Fish was poorly prepared - wet and lacking flavor Significant decline in quality compared to Steveston location "Bottomless fries" system is impractical: Requires standing in a separate line Long wait times for refills Low priority given to refill customers Value for Money:

Spent over $70 for subpar food Price point doesn't match quality "Bottomless fries" adds little value given the inconvenient refill process What was meant to be a special outing with my elderly parents (both 80) turned into an unpleasant experience that negatively impacted our entire Rocky Point visit. As someone managing depression, encountering such poor customer service was particularly challenging and affected both myself and my parents well beyond our visit.

Not Recommended: Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this location and will not...
