Came with a group of friends last week on Friday night. Walked in, had a look at the long line ups for everything, had a look at the reserved batting cages.... Well ok... Stood around for 10 minutes waiting for any table to be cleared off so we could take a seat. Waitresses buzzed around hitting very specific customers, we were ignored. They were serving people who were actively playing the arcade games, seems funny that someone playing a game can get a drink in 30 seconds and I can't even get a "hello what can I get you" in half an hour. Astonishingly a table was cleared of its plates and we sat....and sat....and...sat. Forty five minutes to an hour passes... We had at least 5 or more, mostly the same waitresses walk by our group's table as we patiently sat, table clearly not been served ever, none of us looking very thrilled. We sat in the middle of the dining area in raised seating, how could you miss us? I understood it was busy, I waitress myself. I was trying to grip every ounce of patience I possess and give the establishment it's best shot at anything honestly but it was ridiculous. Tables around us were being served, I'm flabbergasted as to the sections the waitresses are alloted because they were dip, ducking, and diving us. No waitress ever made eye contact with any of us...and they were very unapproachable and very easily I could tell most of them didn't enjoy their job, scowling, gossiping together, and eye rolling isn't very attractive to see from staff members while interacting with other customers and each other. Tried to get their attention, I guess they don't like people who tip 20% cash?
Needless to say, we left hungry, thirsty, and bored. Lost my group's money and respect as we are all in agreement that the first impression was bad enough. Only adequate staff member seemed to be the door man, "hello and goodbye"!
Ok long line ups for the games, guess I'll give the food and drinks a try... can't get a waitress to serve me... well ok I'll give the door a try and take my money elsewhere. I wasn't the only table that night who got up and left...
Read moreWent to Baller's with a few friends for the first time since pre-covid. The food has taken a turn for the worse, which is sad. Ballers used to have fantastic food. Our table had macaroni and cheese which consisted of dry noodles with a handful of partly melted marble cheese on top. It was barely warm. I ate it as I paid for it and do not like wasting food and money, it was not good. The table behind us had also ordered macaroni and cheese. I watched the girl take two bites and she pushed it away. When they left there was a plate of uneaten macaroni there. My friend ordered a club and was brought a wrap and fries. We let the staff know and the plate was picked up and delivered to the table next to us. When the club sandwich did arrive it was overspiced and oversalted, the avocado inside was hard. The club went uneaten. The drinks ordered tasted purely of juice and I am not certain there was much alcohol if any in any of the cocktails or shots we ordered. I am a lightweight and can usually only handle one or two drinks but at Baller's I can just keep drinking with no effect it seems. There are some games that are now gone such as Pac man, space invaders, air hockey, and the pinball machines. They've added new ones like Halo, Flappy Bird, and Crossy Road. There is now a photobooth where Pac man used to be. There are no more tokens and a card system is now in place. This is nice as there are no longer children running table to table asking for tokens. Our waitress was lovely and helpful, if I had to rate just on her attitude it would be a 5 star review. Maybe the cook and bartender were just having an off night. Unfortunately, neither my friends nor I will be returning to check if that was the case. We were thoroughly...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with our recent visit to Baller's Rec Room. Our group of 12, including three children, were super excited and made sure to make a reservation in advance, knowing it's tough to seat a group our size on the fly. Despite this, our two pizzas took an unbelievable 1.5 hours, and when they did show up, one had onions despite us specifically asking for none. It had to be remade, pushing our wait to a ridiculous two hours. Adding to this frustration, the cauliflower bites were still partly frozen, and the garlic fries we ordered simply never arrived. To top it off, the changing table in the men's room was busted—not ideal since we had infants with us. Lastly, normally kids can only stay till 8 PM, but because our pizzas didn't even arrive until 8 (we got there at 6!), the manager kindly said we could stay till 9. But then, out of the blue, right after I was served another pint and with just 10 minutes left in the Leafs/Bruins game, they told us we had to leave—apparently because we'd boxed up our food. This was despite other kids still hanging around and no heads-up given after they’d already extended our time. It was incredibly disappointing. I've been here before without issues, but this was a mess. We felt really bad for our server. Throughout this ordeal, our server was the only silver lining; she was clearly embarrassed and did her best to handle the situation. Unless you're only dropping in for drinks and without kids, I'd think twice. There are better places that deserve your...
