Wish I could comment on the food but we never got any. I met a friend for lunch at 11:30 to beat the rush and get back to work for meetings. We left at 12:35 with no food and no-one that could even tell us when we might get some.

When we arrived there were 2 tables of a few people on the other side, our side was empty. We ordered within 5 minutes (we both ordered a burger and lager chips), but did not see our server again until 12:00 when they came to tell us that the kitchen was backed up because a couple of large parties came in. It would be at least another 20-30 minutes for our food. When we pointed out that we had ordered way before the other tables had arrived they first said there was an error in the system, then admitted they forgot to put the order in so we were at the bottom of the queue. They said they could have the food packed to go if we wanted. We asked that they speak to the kitchen and have us bumped to the top and we would make it work if we could get it really fast. They said she would go talk to the kitchen. At 12:15 they finally came back and told us it would be at least 12:30 before we got our food because there were so many tickets ahead of us. We pointed out that friends of ours at another table who arrived at 12:00 were already eating so we felt that was not acceptable as we had already been there 45 minutes. They said they were sorry, but it was their first day serving. At this point we asked to speak to the manager.

The general manager came over to speak with us, the server had told him that there was a problem with the system as the reason our order didn't go through and hadn't told him the time we had arrived and ordered. We laid out the timeline and what our server had said. He was extremely apologetic and offered to give us gift cards, but again no offer of our food even to go at this point. We turned down the gift cards as we had just wanted our lunches (not looking for freebies), and we left. The manager said if we were to return, to ask for him by name and he would ensure we had a good experience. I had to ask for his name at this point since he had not actually introduced himself.

I rarely leave reviews, and definitely not negative ones as I prefer to pump up the good places instead. Mistakes happen, however, the lack of service, lying, and absolute lack of recovery at several points where they could have made it right has definitely soured me to this restaurant. pros:

in terms of small town vibe pub grub the food is fantastic.

It is very affordable for both lunch and dinner

They have a great selection of beer, cocktails, and spirits

They have a touch tune jukebox

They have live entertainment a few days per week

Lots of television with sports playing usually the Blue Jays

The location is great

They have a beautiful patio in which they also allow dogs.

Cons :

When I sit at the bar top, the service is generally pretty good, but it depends on who is my bartender. Some bartenders make me feel like I’m family while others make me feel like I’m a hinderance and how dare I sit at their bar top.

And when I sit on the patio, the service really depends on the day and not necessarily my server.

The menu is too large, I get that they are probably trying to have something on there for everyone, but it is a lot to take in, from chicken to pasta to pizza to steaks and seafood, and some people may love that, but if you are indecisive like myself, and you are given too many options, it takes forever to decide what I want to eat and to order my food.

all in all I have spent almost $5000 at this place so I do enjoy it here whether it is by myself or with one or more friends.

It was good. Went for a function and was in the boardroom. Quiet back there and easily talk to each other. Entire layout looks very nice as well as the patio arrangement.
