May 11th, 2025: I managed to snag a reservation for 4 on Mother’s Day for 9:45am. We arrived early at 9:30am and they already had our table ready!
This quirky and vibrant restaurant has a prime location in downtown Regina. It’s also very family friendly. And the staff are very attentive, which makes me very happy to see.
I ordered the Bacon & Buttermilk Waffle ($18). 🥓🧇 It was good but very sweet. I was in love with giant chunks of bacon IN the waffles. In addition, the presentation was very nice and the flavours worked great together. However, as a natural savoury breakfast lover, I’m glad I went out of my comfort zone but I don’t think I would order this again.
I’m happy to report that my family members that ordered other sweet items were saying how excited they were to come back again! They loved it and can’t wait to try something new next time.
Needless to say, my family and I will be returning. I'm also happy to report their YELP waitlist is now set up.
5 months ago: I finally got to try out this new breakfast place within the first week of opening ! I have heard good things about this restaurant. Now I can happily say I have my own thoughts on it.
Their YELP waitlist hasn’t been set up yet, so this was a bit of an annoyance, especially since they don’t take reservations on Weekends. Either way, I hope the waitlist is set up soon like Saskatoon.
I was happy to walk in at 10:30am on a Saturday and be seated immediately with my boyfriend. I ordered a caramel latte ($6.25), Korean Bulgogi Benny ($22.50) while my boyfriend ordered the Bacon & Buttermilk Waffle ($18) with berries ($3.50). Total before tax and tip was $50.25.
Service was good! Our waitress was very friendly. I was happy with the lighting and the atmosphere. Also, the sheer amount of staff was baffling. We were in an out in under an hour, which had us both extremely happy. This kitchen is being run extremely well, along with front of house.
I’ll start with the waffle and berries. The bacon is actually inside the waffles! This dish was tasty and surprisingly filling. Also fresh berries are a HUGE plus.
My latte was decent. I don’t think it’s worth the same price as Starbucks but it was ok.
Now for my Korean Bulgogi…. Did it taste good? Yes. But was the name misleading? Absolutely. Peperonata tastes good but it’s Italian. The only thing Korean about this dish is the name. The meat was also lower in quality. The eggs themselves were medium or small instead of large. Presentation was great, but to be honest I expected a MUCH different taste and size of portion for the price. Yes, the potatoes taste frozen, but they’re seasoned !
I wouldn’t order the Benny again. But I will return! For a price very similar to Cora’s, it was a much better experience. Seriously, if you want to go to a chain with a fast turn...
Read moreOur first time there, it was packed and so we sat at the bar. Service was prompt, but it took a bit of time to get our food which is understandable given they had a full house. We had the threesome with eggs over medium and one of the bennies with eggs poached medium. Also, a side order or marble rye toast which is $4, for 2 pieces of toast...a bit surprised by that. The eggs came very underdone, obviously so. The whites on the poach medium were runny, and the over medium fried eggs were clearly barely over easy. We decided to live with the over "medium" since they were so busy, but our server replaced one of the 2 underdone poached eggs since the other one was slightly more passable and we were hungry and had already waited awhile. Also, everything was cold. The toast was served dry with a side of whipped butter, but the toast was stone cold, so much so that the whipped butter didn't melt. The waffle, though tasty, was also stone cold but the syrup was warm and well, we were hungry so we rolled with it. I would imagine if the waffle was served warm, it would be amazing as the flavour and the texture were bang one. The maple pork bangers were really good, but only barely warm. On our second visit, we were seated in the dining room. It's a great atmosphere, with a relaxing vibe and colour scheme. We again ordered the threesome, hoping since they weren't so busy this time that the food would be better, and decided to try the breakfast gnocchi. Again, eggs were ordered over medium and arrived pretty much cold and clearly over easy. The waffle, again, cold and the toast, again dry and cold and still 4 bucks. The gnocchi was tasty, their hollandaise is quite nice. Service was friendly during both visits. Honestly, I would maybe give this place one more shot, but not order anything that requires they cook an egg, other than scrambled as it seems like they either have completely different definitions of temperature, or are rushing to send orders and pulling the eggs too soon, or maybe they don't look carefully at what the customer ordered. I don't know what the issue is but if they're going to charge what they charge they need to tighten up their standards. Assuming there was an expo, at least 2 people looked at that food and sent it to the table when it was very obviously, even to an untrained eye, underdone. Overall, it was quite disappointing, especially considering the expectation of good food based on the atmosphere, the extensive menu,...
Read moreWe finally decided to try OEB now that it has been open for about 4 months and had some time to establish itself. Having been to OEB in other cities, we were very excited to hear Regina was getting one.
We went on a Sunday and knew there would be a wait, so we had planned for that. However, the wait ended up being longer than we were told and cleaning up the tables took far longer than it should have. They did say that the table before us stayed longer than their 90 minute expectation, however a manager should have stepped in to get those people moving and they could have started clearing plates while the table was visiting at the end of their meal.
The service was somewhat lacking from there on out. We hardly saw our server, never got refills on coffees, we had to flag down for missing drinks, etc. The napkins and table also had hair left behind, and making it feel unsanitary. Finally, at the end of our meal, we sat around waiting to pay and finally went up to the till so we could leave. I never got to see the bill but because there were drinks and things missing, I was fairly certain we had likely overpaid.
It seemed clear to me that they need to better establish roles. The server seemed to have too much work on her plate. There could have been someone to clean tables, someone getting drinks, etc. It felt that there was no manager on duty to make sure things are running smoothly, which would be particularly important at a breakfast spot on a Sunday.
The food was as expected, and came quite quickly once ordered.
Overall, though I understand they are fairly new, they have had time to establish themselves and the experience should have been much better especially given...
