Went to the fat badger for the first (and last) time, and had an awful experience. Sat down with a table of friends that were already in the establishment getting service. Not one person asked if I would like anything so after 15 minutes I made my way to the bar to serve myself. Once finally getting the attention of the bar staff, I had ordered my beer and waited with my cash in my hand. My beer was handed to me and the woman serving it simply turned around and walked away. I stood in awe, waiting for my opportunity to pay, but nobody seemed to have the time of day so I walked away and sat back down at my table. A couple minutes later one of the bar tenders came over to my table demanding that I pay for my beer (quite rudely) so I explained that I was sorry and that I tried to pay. I quickly pulled out the $20 that was hardly in my pocket as I JUST put it away. She insisted on arguing with me , claiming I had no intentions to pay and making me feel like a bad person about it but I was honestly trying to make it right. Even though I had handed her the $20 to pay for my beer, she still stood there arguing with me. A friend of mine could see that I was being bothered and he asked her why she was being so rude and why she would treat a customer that way, which turned into another big argument between her and my friend. She eventually walked away with my $20 and came back with my change. She handed it to me and walked away, which I then realized I didn’t get all my change back. I only bought 1 beer at $7.50, paid with a $20, and only got $7.50 back. I had 1 beer!!! Do you think you were just going to rip me off and I wouldn’t notice? I can only imagine how much cash gets pocketed from actual drunk people. Great first impression from the fat badger!!!...
Read moreHad the staff act aggressive when one of their servers was convinced I was 18 after seeing my ID, in which my B-Day is near the end of 2002. It was a very saddening ordeal, especially when it seemed like the server was more concerned about being the one to prove me (the person who's genuinely 19) rather than being correct and adhering to the law. I work at a liquor establishment as well and so, I understand wanting to make sure but if the server removed their ego from the job and understood that people born in Oct-Dec 2002 are 19. It didn't help that the server came back, misgendered me and was enthusiastically saying, "you are eighteen!! You can't be here" when I genuinely am nineteen. The manager came aggressively asking for my ID and ignored me explaining how I'm not a man and would prefer not being mis-gendered and only settle down when I offered my ID. To which (big surprise) it was found that I am 19. AGAIN I can't stress enough that I understand it's all about the liquor serving law, but I wish the server would not be as aggressive, misgender me, and act like it's all about proving me wrong and not about abiding by liquor laws. I wasn't able to try the food because I had to leave partially due to what occurred, but I figured that staff can certainly do much better and not act so aggressive towards potential customers in regards to IDing. I would love to come again, and perhaps my review may change on a better experience, however it was not very positive as a...
Read moreI'm writing this review to warn others about the subpar experience I had at The Fat Badger in Regina. Unfortunately, my visit was marred by lackluster service and a disturbing atmosphere. The moment we walked in, it was clear that the staff was not attentive. Our server seemed completely disinterested in taking our order, and it took an inordinate amount of time to get our drinks. But the real issue was the behaviour of some of the other customers. Specifically, there were a couple of drunk female patrons who seemed to be more interested in getting attention from the staff than enjoying their drinks. They were loud & obnoxious, It was uncomfortable and distracting. To make matters worse, the staff seemed to be catering to these rowdy patrons with a very distracting laugh rather than focusing on serving the rest of the customers. It was clear that they were more concerned with keeping these troublemakers happy than providing a decent experience for everyone else. Overall, I was disappointed with my visit to The Fat Badger. The poor service, combined with the uninviting atmosphere created by the loud and obnoxious customers, made for a truly unpleasant experience. Unless they improve their service and address the issue with their clientele, I would not recommend this...
