Dear Sir,

My associate and I visited your restaurant in downtown Regina today, and unfortunately, we had a very unsatisfactory experience. We both experienced food poisoning, leading to three instances of vomiting while on the highway.

We ordered four food items:

The first item, Fulvadi, was satisfactory.

The second item, Khaman, was poorly prepared. The top portion was microwaved and hot, while the middle was cold and the bottom was watery, which was quite unappetizing.

Regarding the Chhole Bhatura, the Bhatura was excessively oily, with oil literally dripping from it, and it had an unpleasant odor, suggesting it was not fresh. The Chhole also appeared to be microwaved, hot on top but cold in the middle, which was unappetizing.

My wife initially ordered an Amritsari Dosa, but the server recommended the Szechuan Dosa, so we changed our order. The Dosa contained undercooked vegetables, and the accompanying sambar was also unsatisfactory.

I brought these issues to the attention of your employee.

While I initially did not intend to file a formal complaint, both my wife and I are now ill, and we are concerned about our ability to work tomorrow.

I am considering reporting this incident to Saskatchewan Health, but I am hesitant to do so due to our shared Indian heritage.

Finally, the excessive noise from your kitchen staff was disruptive, making it difficult for us to converse. There were other issues as well, which I will not detail at this time.

Waste of Money – Horrible Service and Hygiene Issues

I usually don’t leave negative reviews, but my experience at Akshar Veg Restaurant left me genuinely shocked. The service was absolutely pathetic. We waited and called the staff multiple times, but they kept ignoring us as if we weren’t even there. No smile, no greeting—just rude faces and cold responses. Basic hospitality was completely missing.

The restaurant itself looked unclean and poorly maintained. The table was sticky, the floor had leftover food lying around, and worst of all—the water glasses were filthy. We returned them and asked for new ones, but even those were dirty and greasy. It honestly made us question the hygiene of the entire place.

We ordered bhel puri, and it was a disaster. The masala was freezing cold, like it had just been taken from the fridge, and the puris were soggy—not crunchy, not fresh, just plain bad. For a place claiming to serve fresh food, this was unacceptable.

Yes, the order came as requested, but that’s about the only thing that went right. The visible kitchen area looked extremely unhygienic, with open dustbins, no gloves, and uncovered ingredients sitting out in the open.

And then comes the price—completely overpriced for such low quality food and terrible service. For what they charge, you expect at least a clean table and respectful staff.

Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend Akshar Veg Restaurant to anyone. Totally not worth it. Spend your money somewhere that values its customers and maintains...
