I recently visited The Keg Steakhouse & Bar on the recommendation of a friend, and I must say, it was an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The moment we stepped in, we were welcomed with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for a truly memorable meal. The restaurant’s ambiance is sophisticated yet comfortable, with elegant lighting and a cozy, intimate feel that made it perfect for both casual dining and special occasions.

We were here just for dessert, but the experience was so delightful that I’m already planning my next visit to try out more of their menu. To start, we ordered two drinks – the Aqua Fresh and the Green Tea Mule – both of which were refreshing and creative. The Aqua Fresh was light, crisp, and perfect for a refreshing start, while the Green Tea Mule offered a unique twist on the classic Moscow Mule with a subtle, earthy flavor from the green tea that was both calming and zesty. Both moctails were well-balanced, and you could tell they were crafted with care.

For dessert, we indulged in two items: the Crème Brûlée and the Biller Choco Pie. The Crème Brûlée was absolutely divine – perfectly caramelized on top with a rich, smooth custard underneath. Every spoonful melted in our mouths, leaving a sweet and satisfying taste that was just the right amount of indulgent. The Biller Choco Pie was a decadent treat, with layers of chocolate and a delicate pastry that offered the perfect balance of textures and flavors. Both desserts were the ideal end to a wonderful evening.

What truly stood out about our visit was the exceptional service. The staff at The Keg Steakhouse & Bar were attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly, making sure that we had everything we needed without being overbearing. They took the time to explain the drinks and desserts in detail, which only enhanced our experience. You can tell that the staff is highly trained and genuinely cares about creating a great experience for their guests.

The atmosphere, service, and quality of the food made our visit to The Keg Steakhouse & Bar a delightful one. Even though we only had dessert this time, I’m definitely looking forward to returning to try their steaks and other offerings. If you're looking for a place with great food, drinks, and exceptional service, I highly recommend checking out The Keg Steakhouse & Bar. It’s a place that delivers on every level, and I can’t wait for...

This is easily the most expensive meal I have ever eaten. In order of the photos: Filet Mignon (Medium Rare, 7oz) with a double baked potato ($50), Baked Brie ($19), Bacon Wrapped Scallops ($17) and Mini Crème Brûlée ($8). Prices are pre tax and tip.

Appetizers were shared, but I got to try everything out. I’ll start with the appetizers. The baked Brie was good, it tasted like a dessert. The orange zest on top was a genius idea for a flavour combination with cranberry. Personal opinion, I could have actually enjoyed the Brie to be baked a few minutes longer so that it was extra melted. The bacon and scallops were nice and cooked well. You don’t need the cocktail sauce with these. Tables are also served with fresh, warm bread. You know it’s good when it’s warm.

As for my main, it was an excellent combination to serve earthy green beans and beets with a steak. They were fresh. The steak was melt in your mouth and I am now a double baked potato fan. My only complaint was that the little sauce on the side tasted like bland mayo. Not sure exactly WHAT it was but I didn’t actually use it. (Other reviews lead me to believe it's bone marrow cream sauce) I ate my plate as is.

The entrée itself was an expensive $50, but you pay for upscale dining. This is probably the best quality steak I have ever had in Regina. I’ve also discovered that I’m not really a steak girly. This is completely my own personal opinion, but I think I want to try seafood if I ever return. That being said, if you love steak, this is the restaurant for you.

Now on to the dessert. $8 for 2 mini spoonfuls? It was laughable. That is not worth $8. It was ok, but nothing spectacular. I was also a bit disappointed that the featured Sticky Toffee Pudding dessert (that I did not order) was not house made.

All in all, 5 star meal and service. While I find the price extremely high, you will get a good...

Our table sent steaks back a total of 3 times, but I am still giving 5 stars. Why?

As always, when I make an online reservation everything was easy and when we showed up 10 minutes early we were still promptly taken to our seats. We were a party of two and were sat and immediately attended upon with drinks and bread. Our party ordered a 7 oz filet, medium, and a 7 oz blue cheese filet, medium rare, and unfortunately they came out well done and medium well respectively instead. Our party is Canadian as heck and have never complained at a restaurant before so hesitated to bring it up, but we did end up sharing our discontent with the cook of our steaks to our wonderful server. She alerted management who came out immediately who explained the process that they would gladly replace our steaks, and left us our potatoes to continue grazing on while they recooked new steaks. Not long after new steaks came out (with fresh new potato sides!!) delivered by the kitchen manager, and while my blue cheese filet was a perfect medium rare, my party member's medium filet was very rare, so it was quickly re-sent back for a refire and then very quickly came back out cooked a perfect medium. I greatly respect that the kitchen manager asked us to cut into them to make sure they met our expectations right there upon delivery, and quickly agreed my party member's steak was rare. The general manager came back out during this and stated my party member's steak would be on the house due to the inconvenience, which we greatly appreciated.

Well the delay wasn't ideal, we ended up with the delicious steaks we were hoping for and the staff completely owned up to the kitchen issues and we left completely satisfied and will be back.

Well done Regina South Keg team!

PS: The Raspberry Sorbet limited time desert...

Visited The Keg for the very first time, and even though we went only for dessert, it turned out to be an absolutely amazing experience. We tried two desserts—the crème brûlée and the chocolate cake—and honestly, both were next-level good. The crème brûlée stood out right away. It had a perfectly crisp caramelized top layer that cracked beautifully with a spoon, and underneath was a smooth, creamy custard that was just the right amount of sweet. What really made it special was the touch of kesar (saffron) in the flavor—it added such a rich, aromatic twist that I wasn’t expecting, and it worked beautifully. Easily one of the best crème brûlées I’ve ever had. The chocolate cake was just as impressive. It was rich, warm, and indulgent, with a deep chocolate flavor that didn’t feel too heavy or overly sweet. Every bite melted in the mouth, and it paired perfectly with the smooth texture. If you’re a chocolate lover, this one’s a must-try. We also tried a couple of their drinks, and they were surprisingly good—balanced, flavorful, and paired nicely with the desserts. They definitely know what they’re doing behind the bar. Even though we went just for dessert, we were really impressed by the overall dining atmosphere. The place is elegant and inviting, with a cozy yet upscale vibe. The lighting, decor, and overall ambiance made it feel like the perfect spot for a date night or a classy evening out. The staff was polite and welcoming as well, which added to the overall experience. I’ll definitely be going back—next time to try their main courses too. If their desserts and drinks are this good, I can only imagine how great the rest of the menu must be. Highly recommend for anyone looking for top-quality dessert and drinks in a beautiful setting.
