Hey there! So, my friends and I were chillin’ at the Outlets, shopping our hearts out, when suddenly, we got hungry. That’s when we spotted a sushi restaurant, and let me tell you, we had no idea what to expect. (I mean, I wouldn’t have chosen it if I had read the reviews beforehand, haha!)
The food was a bit small, and the prices were a bit steep. Two rolls for $18? That was a bit too much for my taste buds. And the chicken teriyaki roll we ordered? It was just okay, nothing special.
We also ordered some gyozas for $10 for five pieces, which was a bit pricey too. And to top it all off, our pop was bottled and cost 3.50 cents each! Can you believe that?
Now, here’s the kicker: they don’t have real cups, only paper ones. Talk about a lack of basic amenities!
My friend ordered the beef teriyaki don and a chicken teriyaki don for around $20 each. When we asked for the bill, the manager demanded a tip. Can you believe that? I mean, as a professional in this industry, I’ve never been asked to tip. We left a small tip, and the manager rolled her eyes.
To make matters worse, the server was a man, and the manager brought us the change while standing there waiting with her hand out. That was just plain rude and unprofessional.
The restaurant wasn’t very busy, so I can understand why the management needs to improve their communication skills and treat their customers with respect.
Our server was the only bright spot in our experience. He was friendly and helpful, but he wasn’t exactly a master chef. So, we won’t be returning to this place and definitely won’t recommend it. Instead, we’d suggest checking out Japadog. They’ve got some really...
Read moreVERY disappointed in the racism experienced by the waitress. My mom and I entered the restaurant hoping to grab a quick bite after a long day of walking around (this was today, Sunday May 7th at around 7pm). The restaurant was not busy at all, about half-full. We were in a rush so I entered to ask the waitress how long the average wait time was and before I could even fully ask the question, the waitress just shook her head and told me to leave and pointed to the restaurant next to us. She did not even properly speak to us, she mumbled something that I couldn’t make out and just shook her head and pointed next door. I was very confused on why she was insisting we leave, I was about to ask her what she meant but she just turned around and walked away. I thought maybe next door is where they take orders or something but when I went, I saw it was an entirely different restaurant. I realized that the waitress just didn’t want to serve us and was telling us to go eat somewhere else. Although I am Canadian, I am also an immigrant and was dressed differently than the typical Western style (and the the waitress was an Asian lady around late 20s or 30s with medium-length dark hair in a ponytail, I didn’t get to see her name though). VERY disappointed in the service, did not even get the chance to say a full sentence before being directed elsewhere and being treated as if I’m not even worth her time. No proper communication but just shaking the head and pointing elsewhere, this is unacceptable...
Read moreI went here today and if I could give this place a zero I would! There customer service was awful and the food was bland no flavor! It was a Sunday absolutely not busy at all. I was craving sushi and my partner wanted Japadog which was right next door. After I ordered they told me it would take 15 mins so I went to check on my partner and he was waiting for his meal as well. I told him to grab his food and meet me outside on the patio of the sushi restaurant and we can just eat at a table there since it was absolutely empty not one customer on the patio. I go inside to grab my food and meet my partner outside. As we are about to sit down and eat, we are approached by two employees saying that we can not eat outside on there patio. I asked why, since I just paid $25.00 for a meal. They then say that I can eat but my partner can not because he is eating from Japadog! Im like are you serious? There is no one even sitting on your patio, it wasn't busy at all. And they were like yes, you can not eat here, if you want you can go sit on the patio for Japadog. We were shocked as to how rude they were, we left and went to japadog. We sat on the their patio ate my disgusting sushi and was not told that we have to leave or can not sit there. And as we were sitting there eating those employees are giving us dirty looks. This place is such bad customer service I have ever experienced in Richmond. Do...
