Steveston Coffee Company — Restaurant in Richmond

It was supposed to be a beautiful morning, and we were in a good mood. However, a small incident occurred. As we enjoyed our breakfast, chatting about our children and life, time unknowingly passed quickly. The café, which had been bustling in the morning, gradually quieted down. Most customers opted for takeout, leaving only us and one other table.

Unexpectedly, the female owner approached us and loudly spoke in Mandarin (even though she usually speaks Cantonese), saying, “You’ve stayed too long; other customers won’t have seats…” and so on. I was a bit surprised and looked around—where were these supposed customers?

Nonetheless, we politely stood up and left immediately. It was pouring outside, so we moved to another café and continued our lively conversation. But, unsurprisingly, I won’t be visiting this “internet-famous” café again—her way of thinking just doesn’t align with mine. It seems like this café has a “table turnover”...

April 2025 We moved from the area, and even thought we don't come as often, Grace and Roy remember my order exactly, as with my husband's! Best coffee, gluten free brownie and croissant breakfast pastry ever.

January 3, 2023 Grace often has my order in the till as soon as I walk in the door. Both her and her husband Roy are so lovely and great at personalizing and remembering details. Today I walked in to get a bag of coffee beans, I wanted it ground, and they asked what kind of machine I was using it in so ground the beans for our french press. I hadn't been in over the holidays and Grace had a custom (no chicken or pork) treat bag for our dog Lucy as they are a pet friendly establishment. I absolutely love this kind of care and attention. And their coffee really is the best. 💖

This is my favourite coffee shop! 💛☕️ I happened upon it while I was taking a long unexpected break in Steveston Village. I was in the mood for an iced coffee, and I was looking forward to the sound of ice cubes clinkling together in harmony… A very satisfying sound… I found this beloved coffee shop near my workplace… I ordered their iced caramel macchiato, and was instantly smitten upon my first sip! I love the roast and depth of flavour from every sip 😊 I always look forward to my next visit!!! (It’s a highlight of my week to get my iced caramel macchiato)
