Orchid Garden Asian Food Restaurant — Restaurant in Saskatoon

I recently visited Orchid Garden Restaurant and had an amazing experience! I tried the fried shrimp and chicken with sweet and sour sauce – it was so delicious, perfectly crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I also had a bowl of seafood noodles with fresh shrimp, squid, fried dumplings, and fishballs. The noodles were well mixed with a flavorful Chinese sauce and the broth was incredibly refreshing.

We then tried the Banh Mi, which was both crunchy on the outside and soft inside, filled with charsiu or xiumai. The flavors were fantastic! The prices were very affordable, and the jasmine tea was a nice touch – they even offer it for free. To top it off, I ordered Iced Coffee Milk, and it was exactly like the coffee I had in Vietnam – rich and authentic.

Terrible!! 1st off, called for a pick up order and the person answering the phone couldn’t understand anything I asked. After a couple minutes of me trying to order she tells me that the noodle bowls don’t come with spring rolls. So I said ok. I will get an order of 2. Go to pick it up after 15 mins. She is there and doesn’t have a clue why I am there. Told her I was picking up my noodle bowl order. She then tried to seat me with a menu for a couple mins. Finally another girl comes and gives me the order. I go to pay. Ridiculous price of $18.50 for a noodle bowl and 2 spring rolls. I go to have my lunch. Find out that the noodle bowl did have spring rolls in the container. So they screwed me for another $6. The meal was so greasy and soggy it tasted like a sponge.

Stopped in for lunch today(Thursday) for the first time as it’s close to work. Was pleasantly surprised at just how delicious it was! First impressions were good as it’s tidy, and clean in the front and in the bathroom, server was pleasant and smiley. Was greeted and got water quickly, order a beef noodle bowl($12) and 2 chicken summer rolls($6) and I have to give both a thumbs up 👍 👍 lots of flavour and the noodle bowl was large with fresh ingredients, shredded lettuce and cucumber, carrots and crushed peanuts, the beef was tender and juicy. I didn’t love the spring rolls but that was overpowered by the rest of the meal! I also got my food in about 5 minutes which tells me they were ready for a lunch rush, in and out in 30 minutes without any rush.
