Starbucks — Restaurant in Sault Ste. Marie

As a student, I have become a semi-regular within the past year and I’ve never once had a bad experience here! The employees are always extremely nice and I have developed friendly relationships with a few I see often! Some notable employees go above and beyond to make me feel appreciated, not just as a customer but as a guest. Within the past year they’ve only given me an incorrect drink once, which was during the busiest time I had seen. I hadn’t cared enough to bother them during the rush, but I would be surprised if they were anything but helpful.

Although the staff are quite a highlight, the building itself is very much average; this is not at fault to the individuals. There is only one booth I enjoy sitting at, as it’s the only non-wooden seat in the Starbucks. This is coming from someone who spends upward to three or four hours at a time here. There are a wonderful amount of electrical outlets available, but the public wifi seems inaccessible to myself and others. It is available yet it doesn’t seem to work.

All in all, it’s my favourite Starbucks in town, with great staff and well made drinks! I highly encourage...

I bought a caramel macchiato and I used my bonus stars to get a bagel with cream cheese which I added 12 on to see how many they would give me. I expected at least 4 which is the amount I normally would get with my bagel. They gave only gave me 2 and when I asked for more, the girl asked if I wanted 1 or 2 more with an unimpressed look. I don’t necessarily blame her because I was trying to extra for a future bagel. The bagel was clearly toasted rather than warmed but it was cold by the time I got it which seems to be typical for Starbucks in general. What bothered me was that my drink was empty from the top 1/2 inch of the glass and there was the smallest amount of caramel drizzle on the bottom which completely ruins the drink for me since I rely on that sweetness to overcome the coffee taste!

Overall, it was easily shown that their service and care for the customers was sloppy. It’s not a big deal to give a couple extra cream cheese packages and it doesn’t kill them to give a proper amount of caramel sauce. It is unlikely I will order from this location again...

When I ask for a "peppermint mocha," they should ASK if "hot or cold"... I NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER get hot drinks. Only cold frappacinos. Sadly, a hot one was provided. It tastes like hot chocolate. But more expensive. And let me make this very clear: If I wanted a HOT CHOCOLATE, I would go to Tim Horton's, spend $5 LESS and still get MORE product. NOT HAPPY!

UPDATE: we come back and they are OUT OF PEPPERMINT. Seriously, this actually happened. How in God’s name does a Starbucks run out of PEPPERMINT? Had to settle for a vanilla bean frapp (which was gross).

UPDATE 1/31/2020: This morning I spent over $25 at this Starbucks location. I ordered a Vente Java Chip frappacino, and a Vente Peppermint Mocha Frappacino which, as described above, is my favorite drink. The Java Chip came out cold and the Peppermint Mocha AGAIN(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) came out hot. Once again, if I wanted a mint flavored hot chocolate I would have went to Tim Hortons and spent $3.00+ less....
