The Farmer's Daughter — Restaurant in Sidney

Considering the price point, neither my partner nor I were impressed. This was my first wine and cheese tasting, which we paired with wine, honestly none of the cheese tasted good to either of us. I will give that a pass though and chalk that up to potential ignorance on our part. On the other hand, I know what a good Mac and cheese taste like and that is not it... very bland and dry, gives frozen and thrown in the oven. Second is the French onion soup which was to salty to get anything else from it.... and to top it all off the service was brutally slow, they had multiple servers and the place only had a handful of tables yet it took far to long to place our oder, in addition to receiving our food. Furthermore we received our cheese which is to he paired with the wine at a rough 15 min...

Lovely food, knowledgeable staff, however...

My wife and granddaughter went for lunch today and when greeted by the hostess they were told that they only take reservations. My wife asked is there somewhere else that they could recommend. The hostess said there's a pizza place right across the isle and that your daughter may like pizza.

As they were pressed for time they had pizza across the isle... Shortly after, as they were eating in an open area close to the Farmer's Daughter entry (close enough to easily hear). Another couple, no children, showed up looking for a table. The hostess asked if they had a reservation and they said no. The hostess said no problem and they were happily seated at a table.

It will be some time before I ever recommend this...

Update: Jessica from Farmer’s Daughter reached out to me wanting to make my experience better by offering me a replacement charcuterie box. Although it does not make up for the disappointing birthday treat (obviously we can’t go back in time for that), it’s the next best thing in terms of customer service, and is appreciated. I’ve change my review to 4 stars for this.

I ordered a charcuterie box last year for my birthday and was super impressed so I decided to order one again this year. The one request I had was no blue cheeses, and when I picked up my box the day of my birthday and got it home, I saw there were TWO types of blue cheese. No one ate either of them and it was super disappointing considering how much they cost and it was too late to do...
