Mek’s Delight was recommended by a friend when we llwere discussing about Halal restaurant for South East Asian food. Interior was simple & clean, there’s only 5 tables in the restaurant, so come early or call them first. Parking was plentiful at the back of the restaurant. The place is run by a husband & wife team, wife is from Kelantan, Malaysia & hubby is from Thailand. Hence the combination of Malaysian & Thai food. Very friendly & attentive service despite a 2 person team. We ordered fried rice with fried chicken, Nasi Lemak (coconut rice), Chicken Briyani, Mee Goreng, & Rendang. The flavour of the dishes was spot on, the fried chicken was extremely tasty, the flavour went right into the meat with a crispy skin. Who doesn’t like crispy chicken skin? The Chicken Briyani was good, even better with the small bowl of curry that comes with the Briyani rice. Mee Goreng was authentically yummy! I am going to order that the next time. The coconut rice (Nasi Lemak), the rice was so fragrant, it is cooked with lemongrass which gives off a very lovely smell beside the taste. The beef Rendang was expensive but so… worth it, you can taste that it is made from scratch.. the beef was so tender that it melts in your mouth, we ordered a side of rice to go with it… such a marriage made in your mouth. We also ordered Thai iced tea & tea tarik… We...
Read moreGood food but so sad that the customer service is non existence. The owner yelled at me and kicked me out of the restaurant.
I called for a pick up order; dinner for 5 people. Asked how long it would take. He said 45 mins. But i was in a hurry and asked him if he could make it faster. And he said yes no problem. He he had said no he can't then i would have ordered food somewhere else as i was really in a hurry. But since he said yes i trusted him and placed an order. When i got there, it had past 45mins expecting my order to be ready. But it wasnt. The owner told me it will take about 15 more minutes. No sorry no nothing... so i was a bit upset by his attitude so i said come on... next time just tell me it will take longer on the phone so that i can make a different plan. And he gave me this attitude ive never experienced as a customer haha.. unreal how he was littereally about to punch me. So i left (more like kicked out) After i picked up my food and left, he called me thinking he was gonna apologize. But he said, "we forgot Roti in your order. So if you give me your address i can deliver to you" hahaha but i didnt want to tell him my address because it would be my concern if he knew my address. You never know. Anyways, so sad... i liked the food here. But i will never return here again. FYI. Food is good but the portion...
Read moreSo we came here for lunch, ordered the Char Kuey Teow and asked for it to be "not spicy", we are there with our children and they don't eat spicy. And any Malaysian restaurant we've been to, this has never been a problem. So it comes out and it's spicy. So my children won't eat it. But I felt bad because it is a mom and pop shop, so I forced myself to eat it anyway, but it was even too spicy for me. So we tell the owner that it was spicy and we ordered "not spicy". The owner decides to lecture us on how if we wanted it to not be spicy that we should have should have told him so that he would he would have prepared the dish differently. We reminded him that we did ask for it to not be spicy and it is clearly written down on the order sheet NO SPICY. He then backs down from his rant, and asks us, still with some arrogance, "So what do you want me to do?", and at this point, we just want to go, I didn't want him to make another one or to comp us for their mistake. We just paid the bill and went on our way, very disappointed and angry at our experience at this restaurant. As an owner of a restaurant, this is not how you treat your customers. If you made a mistake, own up to it, say you are sorry, and...
