It's another Sunday night, the noodles weren't bringing me any cheer, so the gang & I headed out for our weekly dinner.
Tonight's restaurant was Towne Chef.
What a wonderful dining experience!
The decor was nice & modern, there was plenty of space without the feeling of being crowded, and it has just the right amount of ambience you'd expect when in a group setting.
There were options to grab our dinner from a buffet or order independently from the menu. Half our group did the buffet, I was one of the group who chose the latter.
I went with the Chili Chicken Chuckles from the Chinese Indian fusion menu along with some butter naan. The chicken was delicious, however even at a mild spice level, it really has some kick to it.
We as a group noticed how good the naan was. Our server was puzzled because no one usually mentions the naan when checking in on how the food is, and normally she would be right. It's such a simple staple food, yet it seems every other restaurant gets it wrong & Towne Chef makes it just right.
Somewhere behind us there was a separated room in use for a party. I don't know the capacity of the room, but I would have enjoyed a work get-together at this restaurant.
Really, the only constructive feedback I can give is to offer a pitcher of water with glasses as opposed to buying plastic bottles of water each. The model used in Vancouver restaurants & pubs is to automatically charge patrons $1 each for unlimited filtered water. This helps keep net costs at zero while still offering premium water, all while reducing plastic waste.
Our group had nothing but good to say about our dining experience tonight & we do expect to...
Read moreI went to chef town two times and my expierince on the 2nd time which just yesterday was not good. The staff at first did not aware us of what and what won’t be included in the buffet. We had there before so I asked them to get the soup, however the staff denied about it and when I told them, since when it is removed. She confirmed and said yes it is there. Secondly, the staff is Clue less and not actively paying attention and one staff member just passed by and loudly told us like hey it’s just 20 mins left so hurry for buffet…. Is this the way to talk to your customers? I too work in hospitality and I know how to pass information to the customer for approaching the closing time soon. Anyways thirdly, there was not enough items in the buffet like last time, we saw two sweet dishes last time but this time it was just one. And they did not fill the food also on time. Lastly, how long it take to get 1 naan on table? 15 mins? It just like only three table was full else restaurant was empty. What exectly was the issue to wait so long? I st one point thought they forgot and we reminded them and they quickly got it.
One last point, Please keep enough plates and bowls for people who come for buffet or remove your buffet option if there is not enough plates. Asking for indirectly forcing customers to eat from and reuse same plate which has 5 compartments. It’s cheap service.
I will not be back to have same experience again. Suggestion, change staff and some policies like plate. Else customers won’t come...

The tandoori chicken wings were chef's kiss
There are some good options for spicy-ness if you are someone that doesn't enjoy a lot of heat in your foods, or you have sensitive GI problems.
My partner and I wanted to try this place out after having driven past a few times. Went on a Wednesday and it was surprisingly busy, and understandably so.
We had the buffet, and made some mistakes in going around, and the staff were extremely gracious and gentle in correcting us, and showing us around. There were some excellent options, and we were told that they frequently rotate buffet items throughout the week, so you may not see much of the same stuff the next time you return. You can also choose to order off the menu, which also looked excellent.
When you go to the buffet, you will use serving trays instead of plates that you find in other places and it's honestly great because you can separate the sauces from your mains and sides to your liking.
The servers and manager (I think? Possibly owner) were lovely, and attentive without crowding you or checking on you too much. A polite wave or nod with eye contact will let them know you need something, and they are quick to acknowledge and respond to you either right away, or as soon as they finish helping other tables.
I think this place is pretty new, and absolutely...
