It’s SALSA weekend but not crowded. We opted to dine inside as we’d been outside in the sun for the afternoon. After 10 minutes, Ian let us know he’d be our server and would just be a few more minutes. Sure, that’s fine, we’re not in a rush, just having a nice day with the fam. A few minutes more and someone from the bar came and dropped off some waters for us which was really nice. We ordered drinks and our food since we were ready. Kids burger with sweet potato fries $15 + up charge for sweet potato fries, adult cheeseburger and fries $24 and the “Super Bowl” $28. We also opted to order the crispy chicken wings $22 to share. 2 soft drinks @ $5 each. The wings came out with hair wrapped around the crudités. Let our waiter know and he took it back to the kitchen without a word and came back and asked us if we still wanted it. Honestly, it had briefly occurred to me to just cancel all our orders and just try somewhere else, but I didn’t want to be difficult or make a big deal about anything. So we said yes, please, just without any additions. Food came out shortly after and…it just left a lot to be desired. We understand that Blue Mountain is not the most frugal of places, but this meal was more expensive than the dinner we had the night before at Oliver and Bonacini’s and it was almost identical (cheeseburger, kids pizza, fish tacos and 1 cocktail) with a much lesser experience and vibe. We paid in full and left. It was just a very odd, disappointing dining experience. The meals left much to be desired compared to other finer dining establishments but had a higher price point. We are happy to pay for our meals and never expect anything off, but there was also just no attempt at acknowledging that there was an issue. We have been to Rusty’s before so the familiarity of it brought us back, but we will be trying elsewhere on our future visits to Blue and would recommend others to do the same.

Don’t know how the service and food here is on a non-busy day but today felt like a bad choice. We were sorry that we had to wait almost 40 mins for our food to arrive, the drinks though came in pretty early. The person waiting did though show up a couple of times asking if we wanted something till our order shows up. We felt it was surprising, and the simple ask was- to just get what we ordered first( of course we didn’t say this). This was despite the fact that two parties one seated right next to us and the other at the table across who came in after us, got their food served to them first. And their food wasn’t a bag of chips, had some same dishes. Now what’s the saving grace here: 1. Winter Ale (goes good with bbq IMO) 2. Easy to navigate menu, at par with others around in terms of prices 3. Polite waiting staff albeit slow 4. BBQ Sausage has two different ones, the spicy one was nice. 5. They let you try their BBQ sauces - you can find them on the table 6. The view from the restaurant is amazing Maybe this was a one-off bad experience but makes me NOT want to go back. 1. One of my friends orders a Tacos veg salad that took around 45 mins to come which was shocking 2. CRAMPED SEATING SPACE (not sure if I would’ve complained about it otherwise) 3. Experienced SUPER SLOW SERVICE on 29th February 2020. Hoping this is a once in a 4 years experience.

Place is a rip off and managed terribly. Looked around the village for a place with a little more vegetarian options Rusty’s had a whole section so we decided to eat here. Ordered the Corn N Grits at $26 thinking it was a big meal, the waitress couldn’t even find it on her ordering pad and had no idea what it was. Should have seen the red flags at this point. When the hostess brought the meal to the table, I thought more was to come. We waived down our waitress and asked if this was it. She said she didn’t have a clue it was the first she had seen of the vegetarian meals and would go ask the manager. She returned shortly and said yeah that was it and the manager told her that vegetarian food is expensive to make. It was a corn on the cob with Creme sauce a little bit of grits and even smaller amount of cheese. Total cost to make this dish probably just over $2 and that’s would be using the best of the best ingredients. Which they didn’t. The manager never once came over to our table to talk to us. Wouldn’t even come outside. You could tell the waitress was embarrassed as well because she shied away from our table for the rest of the evening. Staff needs to be trained on all menu items and managers need to touch disgruntled guests it’s restauranting 101. I’m a local and will not be going back here. I recommend you stay away as well.

My family and I went to Blue Mountain over the weekend and ended up at Rusty's on Friday night for a night out in the Village. Upon coming into the bar, we saw the lineup for coat check down the stairs and were anxious to get onto the dance floor and to spend our money on drinks so we decided to hang our coats on the coat rack that was displayed in the corner of the upstairs close to the coat check. Upon leaving the bar that night and heading up to grab our coats, they were gone. We were told that we were unable to get our coats because we didn't pay for coat check, even though there is a coat rack there to hang coats!! the lady in charge of coat check refused to go in the back to look even though there were 3 of us all explaining how our jackets were gone. The response was, well you should have paid, and we had to come back at 2am. I then spoke to a bouncer there and explained that the 3 of us would be walking back to our condo in the -18 degree cold and snow to get home and he could care less about this. My brother in law then stayed until the 2am time that the lady had told us and they still refused to give us our jackets, even after her offered to pay well above what they charge for coat check. The next morning my father in law was able to get our 3 jackets back from the bar, so therefore the staff had taken the jackets off of the coat rack and took them and tried to make us feel like we were in the wrong. I also had a black sweater in the sleeve of the jacket that was never returned to me, therefore the staff took that !!! the response by the hostess the next morning when I came to retrieve my sweater was " come back at a less busy time" and when I asked to speak to management, she responded with " they are busy" so unprofessional and inconsiderate seeing how we are tourists coming to support your economy. We had an open mind and excitement coming there but were very disappointed in the staff who showed huge...

Wish I could give zero stars. Went here in July with my friend, we were one of possibly 3 tables in the entire restaurant, we were seated and given menus and then ignored for about 15 minutes, after this we waved down a waitress and she seemed very annoyed and said that she was not our waitress but would get her to come. We waited for an additional 15 minutes and still no server, a table of guys walked in (seated right next to us) and recieved free t-shirts and were given waters immediately, we were confused and angry and very hungry after a 2 hour trip. We asked for a final time if we could be served and they said one minute. 5 minutes went by and after 50 minutes of waiting we left and went to the irish pub and got our orders within 10 minutes of being there............. IT gets worse. My work was taking a work trip up to blue mountain this weekend, I said I had a really bad experience but the menu looked promising, we had a vote and voted for Rusty's, I said it can't be bad like that twice..... Oh how I was wrong. Again, only about 4 tables in the restaurant, we waited for our waiter for about 10 minutes and then had to ask the hostess for our server. Our server came by and we said that we were going to need lots of TLC , she said that was totally fine because we were her only table. We gave her our app orders and said we wanted our main meal really spaced out... it came when we weren't finished our apps. We had to ask for utensils and we were trying to have fun with our work group and we had to ask about 5 times to have another round, she checked on us once and didn't wait for our response when she asked how our meals were, our hot drinks were not made correctly at all. Could go on all day, I felt embarrassed for recommending this place even after I had such a bad experience the first time. Seriously come on with the customer service!! I don't understand how one place...
