I've been to others this one is hands down the most flavourful. Their plates or sandwiches offer up an extremely satisfying meal.
If you come on Tuesday's they have a two for one falafel special. It's outstanding as a quick lunch but if you're coming during the afternoon be prepared to wait on line behind a number of students who come to get the students special.
They make a pretty sweet lentil soup, and there's a number of vegetarian options that will do the trick. They also have a variety of salad options including tabuleh and a chickpea salad.
If there's one tip I could give. Is when the sandwich is wrapped it looks like it's something you could easily walk with and eat. I'd suggest not. Otherwise, it's a matter of time before a piece of rogue salad or chicken drops out and wreaks havoc on your clothes. If you prefer extra sauce than most definitely sit down or you will be destroyed by falling hot sauce that contains oil as well. Trust me, your clothes and the remainder of your lunch not spent cleaning your shoes off, will thank me for it!
There's not a day that goes by where I don't crave a chicken sandwich from here. And after many years of coming here the sandwich is still amazing. No regrets. Every time I walk out the door I yell Number One! Because that's what it is. The number one...

Oddly enough I hadn't seen the owner for 30 years I was a customer of his at one of his other restaurants back in the 1990s I still remember like it was yesterday, Sometimes he would see me walking by after he closed up his resto and would ask me would you like a Falafel sandwich I would say yes and he would re open the restaurant just to make it for me Looking back that was the first time I was introduced to middle eastern cuisine Never forgot his great hospitality and passion for food and to be honest have never had middle eastern food as good as his

I drove to the Ali Baba's on bloor st. close to Runnymede Subway station. i am parked around the corner while my wife goes in to get food... My wife hops out goes into Ali Babas and waits in line. She is first in line but the owner serves the men first before he serves her???
We had to wait a full 20 mins before she was served. When i came looking for my wife she told me the owner would NOT serve her until the men HAD BEEN SERVED FIRST!!??
then i turned to the owner to tell him what the hell is wrong with our money and why he served men first before my wife he told me to go f* myself and to get out????
Needless to say I complained to the head office about the owner of that restaurant.
