Alright management you kept over talking our table when we tried to explain to you what happened you didn’t want to take the time to listen. So I’m going to talk now and have everyone that wants to read this and judge if they want to go.
Manger you’re rude you only care what you think and think you’re the only one that matters and what you have heard from your server is true. (Been here three times each time had the same server not once have I ever complained). I tried talking to you but you kept over talking me and telling you didn’t care you had a different opinion. On with this huge complaint because someone might have an allergy and might get served the wrong dish like we did. We all placed our order for once the serve was attentive and got the drinks right away which was a shocker. We ordered food right away because it usually takes an hour to get it. It came but two pasta dishes we mixed up the one with spinach went to the person that ordered a chicken Alfredo and you wanted to serve the Alfredo one to the person who didn’t even order it and you the manager said we declined to take that chicken Alfredo which isn’t true your serve put the plate of spinach pasta in front of someone they started to eat it so they weren’t going to give the meal to the original person who ordered it because they already took a few fork fulls out. You’re arrogant attitude towards us was uncalled for if you just would’ve listened to us and let us talk now it’s my turn to explain things the way they actually happened. I respect the fact you stand up for your workers but you disrespected someone paying and a very rude way. That’s truthfully what happened. They wanted to serve a different paying person someone else’s meal and expected us to pay for it. We declined the food we didn’t order yes we actually did because that’s not what we wanted.
The food was hot came out so fast but it wasn’t our server who brought it out. The manager working today doesn’t deserve that position. Atmosphere is awesome that’s why I WAS going every time I went to Toronto.
Unfortunately with the treatment from the manger I’ll no longer give my money to this establishment after trying to serve someone something they didn’t order or serve them a few bites taken out of what they ordered. Thanks for the experience but there’s a ton of better restaurants in the area I will support.
UPDATE on my post it tells me to contact them if reached out to talk about this situation with no luck. It’s just to make them look good. That’s fine! I wish them all the best...
Read moreThis review reflects a disappointing experience that I recognize was somewhat circumstantial, but ultimately stems from how the situation was handled by the management team.
I had booked a reservation well in advance specifically for the Father’s Day promotion (the high tea tower special for dads, including wings, beer, etc.) that was advertised as exclusive to this location. Upon arrival, we were informed that the promotion was only available at specific times and was now over for today, something that was never communicated during the booking process or mentioned online (especially since I had the manager confirm that the special promo was available during the time of booking).
Obviously upset by the situation since we booked and confirmed for this specific promo, I was told that an attempt was made to contact me after they learned the promo time conflicted with our reservation, but the call came from a personal number from one of the staff (so the caller ID was under their name, "* Mandia" and not under Boston Pizza’s), with no voicemail left either. What was most disappointing is that after that one unanswered call, no further effort was made to ensure we were informed.
When I raised this concern, that staff member showed me a list of other customers who also didn’t pick up, and when I mentioned how calling from her personal phone was a reason why it was not answered, she said that some people did pick up though, as if that was enough justification...and yet you are also showing me a list (which includes myself), who did not pick up from your personal phone. If there was a noticeable number of unanswered calls after only a single attempt, wouldn’t that indicate the need for a better communication process?
While I understand that mistakes happen, I felt that management could have handled the situation better, if not by resolving it fully, then at least by acknowledging that it could have been avoided and demonstrating a commitment to prevent it from happening again. This would have been especially appropriate given that it clearly affected other customers as well. Unfortunately, the response we received felt more defensive than solution-oriented.
Again, I recognize this was a circumstantial incident, but had the situation been approached with more accountability and care, I wouldn’t have felt the need to leave this one-star review based on the management’s handling...
Read moreMy family and some friends came to this location during Caribana weekend on August 3rd. There were about 10 people in total, but split in two parties. Each family were paying their own way. We asked not to be seated as a group because we did not all know each other and each family was going to be paying separately. We did not want to pay the automatic 18% gratuity. We asked if we could be seated in the same area but not at the same table, since we all wanted to leave together.
The Manager Himanshu and his hostess were deliberate in making sure they seated us in separate sections. One upstairs and the other downstairs. Ok, no worries, since we didn't all know each other and only few people were common friends. Himanshu displayed a very nasty attitude toward my brother who tried to speak to him about why we couldn't be seated in the same room. He was very dismissive and he then walked over to the hostess and they were seen whispering and giggling in a deliberate attempt to upset our party. We felt discriminated against based on their behavior. The entire party was so upset that few of them ended up going down the street to eat. Jusmeet was our server and he tried his best to provide good service despite the lack lustre reception. He was very pleasant. However after placing our orders and waiting over 30 minutes, my order of chicken and shrimp Jambalaya was given to another person that has shrimp allergy. How can you guys make such a mistake. They offered to remake my meal in 3 minutes. How can you remake a meal that had taken 30 minutes to be prepared before. I declined. I did not need a rushed meal. Therefore, I left the restaurant without consuming a meal. I have eaten at Boston Pizzas in Winnipeg and in the US and never ever have I encountered such an experience. Business is business, and business lost represent a loss to the bottom line. We walked all the way from the waterfront specifically to dine at Boston Pizza. And to be treated this way is really distasteful and is definitely not a good reputation for your establishment. As a person who has spent over 3 decades in Hospitality and Service industry, this is unacceptable and should be an opportunity for coaching. I can assure you that we will...
