I can't believe I haven't rated Egg Club yet!
I'm a regular customer for a few years now, and Deborah (manager) is always super sweet to me, acknowledging me whenever I come in.
The food is always so meticulously prepared and so tasty. My regular order is the BLT, and the lettuce and tomato that come with it are always very fresh. At one point they had stopped putting their homemade ketchup on the BLT and they were VERY responsive to my feedback when I requested they bring back the homemade ketchup. I'm glad they brought it back (whether it was actually because of me or not, lol), because it really makes the sandwich! It feels like they really care what their customers think and I appreciate that.
I tried the chipotle lobster for the first time today and really enjoyed it! Lots of flavour and good amount of lobster chunks. I got it with the hollandaise rather than the white sauce, and with garlic butter which was the perfect combo - highly recommend.
I often get a hash brown with my order too, which come with a dollop of mashed potatoes inside. I used to find them too sweet but now the flavour has really grown on me. It's different from what you get elsewhere but it's really nice!
Thank you to the Egg Club team for always preparing such nice food and with such kind service 🥰 special shout out to Tim who has answered my email inquiries...
Read moreI have mixed feelings about this place because on the one hand, the proposition of anything egg is attractive to me. Combine it with a brioche bread and now you have two of my weaknesses in one place. I went here twice one day apart. First time I had the lobster and the next day I had just the regular one. I definitely preferred the regular since the lobster variety didn’t taste like lobster, didn’t contain any lobster, and the sauce which I suppose is the “lobster sauce” didn’t do anything for me. Classic is the way to go with cheddar cheese. Service and atmosphere is not rated high because it’s a kiosk where you basically walk in, and there is no room to even stand while you wait. At the north York location there is some benches outside where you could sit and eat if the weather permits but don’t get a ticket because parking enforcement is fierce in that neighbourhood. I was in the restaurant ordering my sandwich and I took my eyes off my car for 2 minutes to come back and find a ticket with the parking enforcement long gone.
The final word on this place from me is, that it’s a bit overpriced because you only get 1 egg and 1 slice of bread that is folded around your one egg for $10. I have gone back because I love bread and eggs but I would probably eat here 3-4 times a week if I felt like I was getting any value...
Read moreThe store reached out to resolve the issue, and I truly appreciated it. I still don't recommend the iced latte but I can confidently recommend the delicious sandwiches to my friends knowing that Deborah takes customer happiness very seriously.
Original review below Don't get the iced latte. My friend got the iced coffee and that tasted fine.
Sandwich was great, no complaints there, but my iced latte had less taste than my friend's iced coffee; my latte tasted almost like plain milk. It's a sandwich shop, not a coffee shop, but I found the customer service lacking when I expressed I didn't like my drink.
I asked for some vanilla syrup after trying my iced latte, since it tasted terrible, but they wanted to charge me separately. So I said nevermind and tossed out the full drink. The drink itself is 3.90 plus tax so I think it's disappointing they couldn't spare the few cents to make their drink more bearable. Or offer to remake or give a different drink. Especially when I tipped more than what the syrup costs.
The owner seems to read all reviews, so I hope they can we either improve the iced latte or the customer service when...
