There’s only one thing I get from here all the time, every time I’m in Toronto and even once a week paying the $15 ubereats delivery fee to get it delivered to Mississauga — and it’s their BOMBAY PANEER, dry. Extra onions. Extra side of rice. Oh my goddd if I was on death row, this would be my last meal. So spicy, umami, tart, and flavourful. The colour is a beautiful, appetizing orange-red. The sauce they fry it in is sent directly from heaven. Their paneer is high quality and cooked perfectly. The onions add the perfect touch. They add 3-4 pieces of broccoli in there but I throw that part out. Out of ALL the restaurants in Toronto, every single time I’m in Toronto I ONLY order this dish from here because nothing else compares. It’s like finding your soulmate but with food. I used to be very adventurous and always trying new foods in Toronto, but ever since finding this Bombay Paneer I’ll never do h** activities again - I’m loyal for life. I want this to be my last meal. I wish this was my first meal when I was born. If you ever take it off the menu you’ll find me on a bridge above a freeway so keep it forever please. I could have it daily and not get tired of it. Do yourself the biggest favour of your life and try their bombay paneer. Thank me later.
PS. My parents get their tandoori chicken fried rice, extra spicy, and I’ve tried just the rice part (I’m vegetarian) and came to the conclusion this place serves damn good food. And it’s ALWAYS consistent. Also tried their rasmalai and it’s delicious. I’d try their other offerings but why would I want to when I have bombay paneer, the food of the Gods?
Ending note: this place is take-out only. They have thousands of ratings on ubereats so they’re quite popular. If they opened a full service restaurant, you know...
Read moreThis place is always 🔥 I discovered them during the pandemic and they’ve been my favourite place for Hakka since, and that’s saying a lot since they’re takeout only.
Even though it’s only takeout they do a lot of small things to make the meal better. I.e. they package a lot of their fried foods in paper boxes that don’t completely trap in the moisture, so your food stays crispy during delivery. They also provide you with white rice for every main dish you get, so you never have to buy rice separately. Also provide plenty of their various sauces so you have lots of ways to spice up your food further.
For the food, my go-tos are the crispy beef and the chicken lollipops. The fried beef is so sweet, crispy and spicy with the sauce. Such an addicting dish. Lollipops are always seasoned well and are way better than most wings. They’re the perfect finger food.
Also highly recommend their momos. They come filled with a lot of meat and I prefer to get them steamed and covered in their sauce (thick curry like). Also pictured are the fish pakoras, which were fried and seasoned really well, with big chunks of white fish.
Can’t recommend Hakka Bistro enough if you’re looking for a delicious night in with...
Read moreI was thrilled to hear a Hakka eatery has opened in Downtown Toronto and had to try it. I ordered a Veg Hakka noodles & Chicken Manchurian (i received a small portion of white rice with the Manchurian) This place is only Take-a-way. I was starving by the time i reached home to relish my food. The portions were really good, however the Chicken Manchurian looked more like chicken chilli. I thought they must have got the order wrong, but when i checked the bill, it did mentioned Manchurian. Anyways i dug right into it and "My o my", it was spicy. I felt like a dragon on fire. I also had an upset stomach & felt my insides burning when i went to the washroom. Tips: Ask for vegetables in the veg Hakka noodle, as there was only 3 thin strips of carrot & 2 broccoli. Ask for everything non-spicy (less hot) - not sure if that would make any difference as the sauces are pre-made. I would go back to this place but hope that the chefs see this and reduce the spicy level for the success of their business. And prepare the Manchurian chicken more like Munchurian and less like...
