Came here after being told about it from an online article and a friend. A cute house like atmosphere inside a yellow brick building. Has seating inside and outside: Large picnic tables outside, dining table, couch, bar seating and banquette, window recessed seating. Felt warm, like you are coming into someone's home. Staff were friendly and prompt. Had to come back a second time because on the first visit, they ran out of croissants by 1230 on the weekend, thus, come early if you want selection. I was served my espresso twice by the owner/manager, makes an excellent flat white and cortado! Staff were friendly all around. Croissants were flakey with a soft centre, liked them more than other places as the savory butter is the highlighted flavour. Also tried the apple pastry (chausson aux pommes?) which was also a tasty sweet apple, not tart inside a bed of flakey, yet soft inside pastry. The vegetarian croque monsieur was delicious with blue cheese, onion, mushroom and spinach. Blue cheese was not overwhelming and balanced by the vegetables. My foodmate had the ham and cheese sandwich. Bread was crusty and soft inside. The espresso was strong with cocoa notes. Smooth with light bitterness, and a clean finish. Rufino espresso beans. To go lids are uniquely pink! Cost: Cortado $3.75, flat white $4.50, sandwiches $14.50, croque $12 ish. Also has market items such as wine, cheese (both local and from France), and locally sourced vegetarian sauces from "Smoke and Tears". Took all my food to go but noticed plating with dine in is beautifully done. Overall: Happy to have an gourmet addition to the neighborhood, priced appropriately for the type of food with nice market items to boot! Will try the sweet dessert items or the quiche on the next visit, but ran out of money and room for this visit. Has a second location...something...

My partner & I were so excited to try this place. We went this afternoon for a lunch date and unfortunately were disappointed. We ordered the mushroom melt, french onion soup, and a fig dessert.

They ended up serving us the other veggie sandwich (not a big deal and I had already taken a bite before I realized there were no mushrooms).

The sandwich itself was beautiful and the plate came with some extra sides and sauces. But the sandwich was as cold as the fridge display it came out of and was really hard to eat. It also didn't have much flavour. Every other cafe in the neighbourhood will make the sandwich fresh, or offer to heat it up especially if you're dining in. I didn't think I would have to ask... the cold, soggy veggies and stiff bread just didn't cut it.

The French onion soup presentation looked nice, but lacked any flavour and majorly needed salt.

I'd hate to say this, but the best part of our meal were the croutons that came with the soup.

I forced down the sandwich, and we left the soup basically untouched.

Perhaps they're just working out some kinks? The space and presentation of the food was lovely, I just wish the flavours matched that, especially for the price.

Didn't try the coffee, so maybe that's where they shine?

Our meal of 3 items was...

What can I say? This place takes the cake when it comes to French pastries (no pun intended). Absolutely scrumptious breads and desserts. The chestnut cake blew us away.. the flavour and texture was superb.

The bread will inevitably taste better in the winter months as there’s less humidity. In the summer, it’s not as crisp we find. Nonetheless, they have great baguettes and pastries. They also offer a food menu if you’re lucky to king for something more substantial.

Definitely worth the visit if you’re in the area!

Scrumptious treats! If you like buttery croissants and pastries, look no further. We stopped for a coffee and a quick bite on a Sunday.

They have a selection of pastries, sweets, sandwiches, and quiche as well as a restaurant that serves brunch. We sat outside at one of their picnic tables and enjoyed the warm weather.

The almond croissant was rich, buttery and filled with tasty almond paste. Our favourite was the Canelé; a wonderful combination of custard, caramel and a hint of rum. Yum. The pastries could have been crispier, but the humidity outside may have affected the texture.

Definitely...
