It only takes one occurence to earn a bad review.
I have been going to this location for lunch since I started working in the area.
This location is clearly family-run, with the matriarch taking orders and handling cash. She is always happy to serve, in a good mood, and appreciative of every customer that walks in her restaurant.
It seems like one of the sons is in the kitchen preparing and/or serving up the food. Again, always pleasant, happy to serve, and appreciative of my business.
I enjoy supporting a business like this.
This past Friday, I returned again for my usual lunch and greeted by the usual order taker and kitchen staff. There was a new girl present, one that I hadnt seen before, and she was the one preparing, bagging, and serving up the finished food.
As she requested my ingredients and made my burger, she very oddly began a strange line of pushy and aggressive questioning, while holding hostage my ready-and-paid-for Double Original with cheese.
She: "Do you have a cell phone?"
Me, cautious: "Yeah..."
She: "Do me a favour, scan the QR code right there to leave us a review."
"Huh?" I say to myself, as I prepare to oblige. I look down and I see the QR code stuck to the counter glass. Sure, I thought, whatever, I like the people here anyway, I'll leave a review later.
I scan the QR code with my phone and put my phone in my pocket. I look up at the serving girl, expecting her to hand over my food which is bagged, paid for, and ready to be consumed, yet is still strangely being held hostage behind the counter. My eyes meet hers, and with my out-stretched hand I fully expect her part of the transaction agreement to culminate in my receiving the food that I paid for.
In a shocking display of power abuse, this girl confines my food within her control behind the counter and demands that I remove my phone from my pocket and leave a positive review right then and there, before she has given me my food, before I have consumed my food, and before I have departed the restaurant. Just empty handed, my money taken, my food not given, and you want a review?
This is behaviour I expect from scammers and pickpockets on the street, not from a registered employee whose job it is is to HAND OVER THE FOOD THAT I PAID FOR, OR GIVE ME A REFUND.
Don't let bad employees abuse your customers. Our money keeps you...
Read moreRude staff, underwhelming food, disgusting bathrooms.
Been here twice in the last couple days, disappointed both times.
Day 1: Thursday. They were fairly busy because of a massive convention starting the next day, but honestly not any busier than any other busy day (line had maybe 3 people and there were plently of tables). The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned all day, and smelled like it too. When we got our food, the onion rings were ice cold. Trying to get burger toppings was a chore and a half. Asking for tomatoes gets you one tomato slice, and a dirty look if you ask for a second one. "Lots of onions" apparently means three tiny pieces, and then you flip it for condiments, "just a little ketchup," apparently means drench the patty. Generalized attitude and snippy-ness from the staff.
Day 2: Saturday The convention is in full swing, line goes out the door. I want to cut them some slack, but this is the fourth year I've been here and they NEVER staff to accomodate the amount of people that will be here. Nothing has been cleaned, there are puddles on the floor where people have spilled drinks. The staff are outright rude. Boyfriend only got part of the order out before they were totalling it and trying to collect payment. Staff member outright laughed at the fact that the order included a veggie burger, then got mad that he wouldn't start listing condiments without knowing which of the two burgers they were going on. Got almost no actual toppings, but so much sauce the burger dripped everywhere. The entire restaurant reeks.
I want to cut them some slack because of the convention, but it's a well publicized, annual, event, and no amount of customers excuses the restaurant smelling like a washroom, and staff being rude, and...
Read moreI went through the drive thru and ordered jr crispy sandwiches happy meal and a strawberry milkshake.. salad..I was disappointed when I got my milkshake it was runny and was not blended together...strawberry on the bottom and the ice cream on top.. while I was waiting to the side for my order I had the chance to enter the restaurant. I was unable to get another milkshake so they offered another drink. I returned to my vehicle to wait (approximately 10 min wait) a staff brought the food out. I was driving out and decided to check my order because my child was asking what came with the kids meal...nothing was included in the kids meal ..the jr chicken sandwiches hardly had any condiments..I ask for pickles only on one and received only one pickle..a dash of lettuce on the others one tomato... barely any mayo. I again had to go back in the restaurant to ask for extra condiments and received the skinks of the pickles all 4 slices. I asked for a knife to received an already USED plastic knife. The restaurant was also very poorly kept for a place that does not do dine in. It was disgusting and my worst experience at a Harvey’s restaurant. I have very high standards from my experience working at one of the locations in the past and this was not up to the Harvey’s standards. I tried to eat the salad when I arrived home but it was wilted lettuce two cucumber slices that looked old and yellow..the sandwiches was what I expected also . I will not be going back to this location unless there is new...
