I was so excited to see koh lipe open an eatery beside me. I first tried their taro + black sticky rice ice cream and loved it. Tasted just like a taro bubble tea. I came back another day to order my favorite koh lipe dish, Islamic noodles. I took one bite and it was so disgusting. It was straight up sugar and tasted like a dessert. It tasted nothing like the actual dish at the actual koh lipe restaurant. I returned it and the manager was very nice and apologetic. He offered me another dish in exchange and recommended the pad kee mao as a saltier, less sugary alternative. He also offered me a free pop as well. The pad kee mao was… alright. It definitely isn’t as good as koh lipe or any other popular Thai restaurant in Toronto. I also found a red piece of beef in the pad kee Mao. Not the end of the world since raw beef won’t kill you but I definitely don’t remember ordering my meat medium rare… I’m shocked how they could undercook such a thin slice of beef. The servers are very nice but the food quality is just ruining the Koh Lipe brand. Them pricing the dishes as much as the restaurant is just delusional. Definitely go eat at the restaurant but skip this place.

I visited Kao Kang by Koh Lipe at The Well and had the Green Curry with Chicken and Jasmine Rice. The curry was absolutely delicious, creamy, fragrant, and full of authentic Thai flavours. It had that special blend of herbs and spices that makes Thai food so unique. The jasmine rice was perfectly cooked and paired so well with the curry. Overall, it tasted very fresh and had that distinct Thai character that you can’t find everywhere in Toronto. I really enjoyed it and would definitely come back to try more dishes.

I had the Ma Sa Man Beef curry lunch special for $15 + $4 rice side and it was out of this world. Haven't had this taste at any other thai place. Maybe this is their specialty but I will have to try more dishes. They also gave me an extra rice serving as an apology for an issue they were having upon opening, super friendly!

The green curry lunch special itself tasted great -- though I will say I find their lunch special combo stating it offers "2 fresh rolls" to be disingenuous. In reality you get one fresh roll cut in half to form two pieces which I doubt is what anyone is expecting when they order two fresh rolls.

That being said, I doubt I will go back because the service was atrocious. I went for lunch last Thursday, ended up waiting 45+ minutes for my food and they initially gave me the wrong meal after that 45 minute wait, and I had to wait another few minutes for them to actually give me the green curry rather than someone else's pad thai, and I ended up being late for work. Luckily I work upstairs so everyone was very understanding about it.

This place has potential but they have a lot of issues that would make me pick another place in the food hall over them, especially if I'm on a limited...

I am a long time Koh Lipe fan. I go to the restaurant in person and order delivery quite frequently so I was happy to hear of the new location opening up close to me. Although, the flavour was just as good as usual, I was very disappointed in the portion size. I think there was less than half of what I usually receive when I order the Khao Soi both in person and for delivery. Given that the price is the same, this is very disappointing. Hoping this improves, would love to be able to rely on this new spot and save on...
