The Wellington Market, a newest 70,000 square feet food court, opens its door at the lower ground floor of the Well at downtown Toronto recently. The Well is a shopping mall complex with offices and luxury apartments. Enjoy appreciating the stunningly gorgeous architecture and the cool sculpture. The sunlight shining through the courtyard skylight created a symmetrical patterns onto the ground. This uniquely awesome reflection lead people enter into a mesmerizing world and appreciate the beauty of creative architectural design.
The food court comprises a huge variety of vendors including Jamaican, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, French, Cuban and Chinese.
I tried the lobster served in a brioche bun at Blue Claw Lobster. First, the the amount of lobster was rather small for the price charged ($20). (see photo). The taste of the brioche bun was quite bland and the texture was soggy for my liking. I don’t like to waste food but I just could not stand soggy buns. I am quite disappointed that I paid $20 for a handful (I really mean a handful) of lobster. 🦞 stuffed in a soggy bun. It was quite unacceptable.
Honestly Good Chicken Fingers was my favorites. They fried the chicken fingers after you placed your order. It’s worth the wait. The chicken fingers were super juicy and fresh and piping hot. Loving it. Just wish they put more chicken fingers (only 4) in the combo set. I visited the Wellington Market twice within two weeks (!) and I had the chicken fingers both of my visits.
I ordered homemade ham sandwich at La Cubana. The service was fast and the ham was delish. 👍
The bagels from Bagel on Fire were appetizing and fresh with a refreshingly chewy texture. I have tried cookies from Big Fat Cookies, sweet and good size cookies.
I could not try all the eateries in the food court cause I could only eat that much each visit. Maybe I try more eateries next time however I don’t know when i will go again. Cause I have planned many culinary adventures in the coming months.
Overall I really appreciate the stunning architecture design of the Well. The shops at the mall are ok but they are not too appealing to me though. The food court is worthwhile for one or two visits. Maybe if all shops will be opened up (over 100 eateries) then I may visit the food...
Read moreWellington Market at The Well is such a gem in the heart of Toronto! This place has quickly become one of my favorite spots to visit. The food options here are incredible it’s like taking a mini trip around the world with each bite. From classic comfort foods to more unique culinary creations, there’s something for everyone.
One of the first spots I tried was Ryu’s Noodle Bar, and wow, the ramen there is top-notch. They even have a vegan donburi that’s packed with flavor, which I loved. If you’re a seafood fan, Blue Claw Lobster Shack is a must-try. Their lobster rolls and shrimp dishes are made with fresh, sustainable seafood, and I couldn’t get enough of their Halifax Combo.
But it’s not just about seafood here. Rosie’s Burgers served me one of the juiciest chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had, with the perfect crispy crunch and a deliciously spicy sauce. And for dessert, Shake Therapy’s milkshakes are a game-changer. They even offer falooda, which is a refreshing sweet treat that I never knew I needed.
As much as I love the food, the space itself is something special. The design of the market is so fun and interesting. The open layout and folding glass walls make it feel like part of the city, but still cozy enough for you to enjoy a laid-back meal with friends. It’s a great place to spend some time, whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or just strolling around soaking in the vibe.
Overall, Wellington Market at The Well is an amazing place to eat, hang out, and enjoy the city’s energy. Every visit feels like an adventure, and I’m already looking forward to my...
Read moreLet's ✨DE-influence✨ this spot as so many 'influencers' hyped it up to be better than what it actually is. I'll only speak on the ones that I've tried and wow was I disappointed: The only one I truly loved was Rosie's burger - the fries, chicken and beef burgers are absolutely delicious. So crispy and I actually felt full. Honestly Good Chicken Fingers was Honestly Mediocre - was intrigued by the lower price but the fries were so salty and the tenders tasted like frozen grocery ones. Postman Waffles had some fun flavors but it wasn't something that I was like 'I can't wait to have this again!'. Waffles were kind of soft, expected a little bit of crunch. Ramen Ryu portions are much smaller than other ramen shops in the city. It has the same price tag as Sansotei at Union Station but smaller. Japadog portions were tiny. You will definitely not get full. Poke Works was so expensive for what you get. Definitely not getting your money's worth. Chun Yang was only okay. Very basic teas at a high price point. Chatime here is fine, same as every other branch in the city. This one just operates slower. They do have a machine for you to order on which I liked.
Hope this helps! The portions are never worth the price charged. High hopes for BHC Chicken...
