Lonzo's (by MAZADAR) — Restaurant in Toronto

Quality here has steadily declined to make this location reliably inconsistent. I’ve ordered the bbq beef over fries three different times and each time it’s been a disappointment.

They rarely have it ready for pick up at the scheduled time and wait to start cooking until you show up.

Fries were hard as a rock 2/3 times. It was actually difficult to chew. Seems as if they just cook the meat and slap it on some fries that were cooked hours ago.

I added onion rings on one occasion and find out when I go to pick it up that ‘they don’t have enough onion rings’ (they gave me about 5 or 6 lol?) so they just gave me more fries rather than offer a refund? They aren’t the same price and the ‘extra’ fries were cold, and soggy.

It’s unfortunate because I would recommend this place often as THE BEST but I’ve been steadily disappointed in the quality the last year. Especially given the prices they charge now. Not sure if it’s just this location in particular but I’m going to be avoiding it...

It was 1:30am after a super fun night out with Friends and I was hungry. I was so glad this restaurant was still open as I live very very nearby. The poutine I ordered was pure bliss. Reminded me of the poutine I'd get back in Timmins the 1990s at a place called Chez Nous; the local pinnacle of poutine at the time. There is plenty of rich gravy and melty cheese curds. The fries are simple but enjoyable. I cherished every single bite. What a joy to come home with such a tasty treat, if a tad salty. The staff are nice, they seem happy and the owner is personable and hard working . This poutine is not gourmet; it's old school in the best way....

Didn't bother taking a pic, ordered the "large" beef over rice, was overall a disappointing, expensive almost $20 container of rice. The amount of sauce covered the actual lacking dry scraps of beef. By large, I assumed it was enough portion for 2-4 people. In reality, it's just enough serving for 1 person. Do go here for the loud, intimidating metal spatula smacking. (What exactly were they making a show of? Smacking the air?) Not quite worth the 20min wait. It was a Monday evening, not sure if they were actually busy or having only 2 ppl on staff to keep up with the overly hyped "demand"....
