Simple Coffee: A Cozy Retreat on Queen Street East

First impressions: Simple Coffee, nestled away at the intersection of Queen Street East and Eastern Ave, lives up to its name. It's a small but charming cafe that invites you to savour the simple pleasures of life.

As you approach Simple Coffee, you can't help but notice its unassuming exterior on Queen Street East. The limited seating space suggests it's a better choice for those on the go. However, the cafe's character shines through its unique details. The post-it-note wall adds a burst of color, setting the tone for a cheerful space. Indoor plants create a cozy atmosphere, while two neon signs contribute to the cafe's mood. Keep in mind that the ordering station is a bit narrow, so it's best to place your order and make way for others.

Experience: Though my visit to Simple Coffee was brief, it was time well spent. The cafe offers your staple cafe vibe, with the added bonus of being close to the road. Whether you're looking to sit and work, lose yourself in a good book, or simply enjoy some people-watching, Simple Coffee provides a relaxed environment to do just that.

Drinks: Iced Latte: A classic choice that delivers the familiar satisfaction of an expertly crafted iced latte.

Overall: Simple Coffee is your go-to spot when you're on the move and looking for a handcrafted coffee. Despite its simplicity, it offers a warm and welcoming experience that's worth a visit. So, if you find yourself strolling through Queen Street East and Eastern Ave., don't hesitate to pop in and enjoy a cup of coffee that's...

Simple Coffee: although I do understand the naming scheme; it doesn’t do this place any justice. This cafĂ© is definitely simple and cozy but it’s also very homey and inviting.

Jason, the owner, represents the absolute epitome of hospitality. He is friendly, funny, charming, polite, goofy, and, most importantly, always going above and beyond to serve. He treats his patrons like family, remembers everyone’s names, and is always smiling.

The menu is also, in fact, simple but the product is top-notch and the food offering is thoughtful, convenient, and delicious. Also, if something is ever not quite right, Jason will make it right — no questions asked. A++ service at all times.

It might just be a “simple coffee” spot but it’s my favourite one in town. Maybe it should be renamed to “Favourite Coffee” —...

Just had a nice visit to Simple Coffee and wanted to share my thoughts! I tried the Vanilla Iced Coffee, and it had a really good flavor—just the right amount of vanilla without being too sweet. The Blueberry Scone was tasty, though a little on the sweeter side for my taste. The sundried tomato and mozzarella Danish was the highlight for me; it had a perfectly flaky crust, and the sundried tomato flavor was clear and delicious.

What I loved most about Simple Coffee is the atmosphere—it’s got a simple, low-key vibe that makes it a great spot to hang out. Plus, it's dog-friendly! My dog, Tank, had a blast cooling down and soaking up the attention.

Overall, I’d give Simple Coffee a solid 4/5 for their food, coffee, atmosphere, and overall experience. Definitely a spot to check out if you’re in the...

Exactly as advertised — simple coffee! The atmosphere is nice, simple, but cute with the community post-it wall touch. Coffee was very good; I didn’t get fancy — just a black cup of joe — and the flavor was great enough that we’ll be going back to bring some beans home with us. Not a big scone guy, but just looking at theirs I knew it’d be more up my alley, and sure ‘nuff!! A nice dry muffin-top lookin’ scone that had me pleased with my pick, and ready to chalk that up to my scone of the year đŸ€  Staff was very friendly, asking us about our day plans and such, which led to some martial arts talk about local gyms and owners and just an all around pleasant experience with them. We’ll be back before we go back home in the States for sure— thanks again!
