I wanted to love this place! I heard so many good things about the NYC location and we saw the signs coming soon so wanted to try when it opened. The line was just starting outside the door and we waited just under 15 mins. So the wait wasn't bad.

While waiting we watched them have the grill split in 3, with raw chicken in a massive pile, semi cooked chicken and then a grill to finish it off. They were refilling the rice from the hot table with everyone's trays lined up on the counter and the condensation was dripping in everyone's dish as they removed the tray.

The people were nice and a lot of staff were working, the place was clean and new looking so that part was good.

I got the combo regular size which was $12.49. It said it came with with salad but it was just shredded iceberg lettered and a few diced tomatoes. There was no other things you could add in, and if completely tasteless. The rice was an orange colour and similarity not much taste. The chicken and gyros was good portion but again the chicken had no taste and the gyros was so greasy that when I moved the rice away at the bottom there was a thick layer of oil. The hot sauce was good, it was actually hot and the white sauce tasted pretty watered down. They clearly are rushing the food and not taking the time.

I am saying this having eaten at MANY shawarma places and I can say with confidence this is by far the worst one I have had. Small food courts in malls with no name places blow this place away. Other places the sauces have lots of flavour, the meat is seasoned, they have lots of toppings and always bursting with flavour. I know this is a super negative review but I am not exaggerating as usually I give 4/5...

When the Halal Guys opened up, there were constant lines out the door, so I didn't get a chance to try this place. Now I have and i can understand finally the long lines. The Halal Guys operates like a cafeteria where you line up for food. It didn't take me too long to move up the line. Here's what I ordered: A regular size combo platter of chicken and gyro with rice and salad. They asked what kinds of sauce I would like. I chose the white sauce since i heard people raving about it, and i also got "a line" of hot sauce. A line because it's spicy. I also ordered some sides: hummus, baba ghanouj and fries. That's a lot of food, I heard you said. Yes, indeed lol. I wanted to have some left over for lunch the next day lol. The funny thing is that I had to really control myself from finishing the combo platter. I was devouring it because I was hungry, and also because it was so yummy!. I liked both the meats, but I love the chicken as it was really tender and juicy. The white sauce was nice and garlic-ky. And I love the hot sauce as well and was glad they didn't splatter it all over the food because it was spicy. And the fries. Love! Same with the other sides as well. The employees were friendly and efficient. I like the bustling positive atmosphere of the place. Am glad this brand from New York is giving...

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of dining at The Halal Guys with my family, and it was an enjoyable experience overall. The restaurant has a casual and welcoming atmosphere, making it a great spot for families looking for a quick and satisfying meal.

The highlight of the visit was undoubtedly the food. We ordered a mix of chicken, and falafel platters, and the flavors were exceptional. The meat was tender, well-seasoned, and paired perfectly with their famous white sauce, which lived up to its hype. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring we all left feeling satisfied.

The service was efficient, and the staff was friendly and accommodating, especially toward the kids. They helped us navigate the menu and made sure we had everything we needed. The seating area was clean and comfortable, though it can get a bit crowded during peak hours.

One minor critique is that the red sauce was very spicy, so a little caution is advised if you’re not into heat. Other than that, the experience was fantastic, and the kids enjoyed their meals as well, which is always a win.

Overall, The Halal Guys is a solid choice for a delicious and halal-friendly dining experience. We’ll definitely be...

WHAT TO TRY?! The platters! Whether it be beef gyro, chicken or combo of both or falafel! I think they're all worth the try especially with their special white sauce which makes up the difference between them and other places. They have sit down area so you can dine in or take the meal to go. You can also order wraps instead of a platter if you don't want to eat the rice. On top of the fresh meat they make every couple of minutes, each platter has fresh cut lettuce, olives, peppers, tomatoes and onions as toppings. Don't forget to add the hot sauce if you can handle some heat to the dish. On top of their signature platters, they also offer desserts. The cookies are baked in house so the cookies are soft and chewy. Often served fresh, they are also hot too! They also have baklava that you can order too. LAST TIP?! You order first from the left side closer to the ovens before you pay at the end on the right hand side by the cashier. Make sure you load up the toppings at the end and don't forget to ask for more white sauce (in packets) so you can enjoy more of their sauce in the platter or wrap which makes them stand out from the rest of the restaurants.
