ChaHalo 茶话弄 - Downtown — Restaurant in Toronto

I’ve been a loyal customer since its soft opening and always loved this place. To be fair the drink tastes great. So if you want to know how their drinks are, here’s your answer. There’s just one small thing though:

A few weeks ago (around mid July) when I was on my way to visit my friend’s dog, I asked for a puppy cup for him after getting myself a drink (even though I’m not with him at that time), and the owner of this place offered me one with absolute friendliness. It might seem like a small gesture but it warmed my heart.

Today I went to visit my friend’s dog again. When I asked for a puppy cup after getting a drink, I got a stone cold rejection.

It’s a reasonable response since I was not with the dog at that moment (neither was I last time), but it still made me feel a little bit not welcomed, especially since the reason for my visit today was to get a puppy cup for the dog.

Let me be clear, the drink definitely TASTES GREAT as usual. Needless to say I’ll still go here often as usual. I just won’t be expecting anything other than my drink in the future.

I don’t know why they changed. Maybe too many people asked for puppy cups without dogs, maybe it’s inconvenient for them to make it, due to store policy, or maybe it’s what most profitable for the business? I mean I’m just a regular customer who still misses the generosity and care of that small puppy cup offered to me weeks ago : (

P.S. if I didn’t make myself clear, they do offer puppy cups if you bring your pets to the store. Also, I appreciate the merchant’s response and wish...

As a tea enthusiast, 茶话弄 ChaHalo is one of my favorite tea shops!

My top pick is 桂花引 Osmanthus Charm, it’s incredibly aromatic and beautifully balanced. The floral-fruity oolong base naturally complements the osmanthus blossom fragrance, with a lingering sweet and refreshing aftertaste. I recommend ordering it with standard or less sugar to really enjoy the osmanthus flavor.

Another standout is 四时闲 Secret of Leisure, it’s a true flavor and texture explosion! It layers fresh tea with sweet-tart strawberry bits,smooth and airy whipped cream, and crunchy almonds, creating a complex and fun drinking experience. If you love bold, rich, and interesting drinks with lots of textures, this one’s perfect.

Love it so much! A female receptionist with glasses who was at the front desk a few months ago, and a tall male receptionist who recently joined, both have excellent service attitudes and are extremely dedicated to their work. They deserve special recognition. As an old fan who started drinking it in Xi'an, China, I was really impressed by the Toronto DT store! When I arrived at the store that day, there were more and more customers, but the staff were organized throughout, and both taking orders and making drinks were super fast.
