Osmow's Shawarma — Restaurant in Toronto

Saw the post is on the same meal the other reviewer below had today. and I am writing a about the same beef kofteh special which I had yesterday as well as a general assessment of Osmows.

A Sultan's Mediterranean Grill take-out resided in this same spot up until recently and I guess I thought this would be similar. In this case, Sultan's food was inventive, tasty, high quality ingredients and a great selection of add-ons to the sandwich including beets, chickpeas and an incredibly good vegan garlic sauce along with hummus and other spreads which upped the experience. Boy, was I disappointed and definitely will not be back.

This is an Osmow's franchise which I think mostly concentrates on reducing costs and unfortunately, flavour. What the owners perhaps failed to realize is that this area has a lot of foodies living in it. This means they expect quality, well-executed meals with an abundance of flavour and good value. As I was in there, I began to see the lack of choices for the meal. Very little vegetables, a white rice (which is the worst kind for heating up as it melts) with a powered soup mix taste and six cubes of beef kofteh that were so dry that they were almost inedible (there was some attention paid to the spice but that did not make it better), a handful of limp green salad filled out the order. The vegan garlic sauce tasted like a vinegary mayonnaise. Really off-putting -- a meal not even worth the $10.99. The only reason I gave one star is that the staff were pleasant.

Though not as good as Sultan's , Pita and Hummus just west on the same side of the street is much better as they really seem to care about their food and their pita chips...

Made order online for pickup. App said ready 846p (over 1hr when i made order). I showed up at 847but stood there with staff refusing to help or deal with online orders (they kept serving walkins).by 9pm still not ready although app said it was 'ready'. I asked at 9o staff when order will be ready and they were so rude, they said no they cant tell me when, that I should go wait in the long line (walkins) if I needed help/ want answers. I asked for supervisor and was ignored. Then i said i want to cancel as i cant wait with no eta and others ajead of me. I am disabled with mobility issues and heavy meds and cant just stand with no end in sight. Staff said they cant give me any eta at all. When I asked to get my money back I cant wait with no eta and staff rhen lied to me, to blow me off, and told me I could just cancel the 'ready' for pickup direcrly in the app. There is no such option and when I asked staff to show me how, i was told to go wait in order line.. Staff were altogether rude and disnissive. I have this on video and have written head office so they are aware of incompetency and very bad training/behavior/kying. I left having paid without my food. Sharwama store less than 8 showers away is just as good/price but friendlier amd good service and treat customers with respect ------update------ To add insult to injury, osmows reply below to reach out...I did and of course habe reveived no call or follow up....empty apology and more broken promises...osmows doesn't care about...

(Worst Osmows in Toronto. Recently stopped to give it another go, nothings changed they don't care about your safety from Covid, period) This place had so much potential, when it first opened it was delicious. Every time I went there I was excited to grab a quick bite. But recently it's now a 2 star rating at most, I rarely take the chance on it anymore. From the minute you walk in the place is clearly dirty, the staff look like they wear the same pair of plastic gloves where ever they walk in the restaurant, and there's always the one guy who isn't wearing his mask properly who's probably the manager. Some of the staff are friendly and say hello - make small talk and take your order. The others look like it's the angany of their existence to have to take your order. I feel bad for who ever orders in here online, they don't see the guy making the meals with his mask on his chin and not over his mouth and nose the way your supposed to wear it, negligently smothering your meal in 2 inches of sauce.
