I recently had the pleasure of dining at Padma Restaurant, located in East York, Ontario, and I must say—it was an absolutely phenomenal experience from start to finish. This place is truly a hidden gem that deserves all the recognition it can get.
First and foremost, the food was incredible—every bite packed with flavor, authenticity, and heart. From the moment our dishes arrived, we could tell that great care went into the preparation. The aromas were mouthwatering, the presentation was neat, and the flavors were rich, bold, and perfectly balanced. Whether you’re a fan of spicy dishes, savory comfort food, or more traditional South Asian cuisine, Padma delivers it all with excellence. And the best part? Everything is halal, which makes this an ideal dining destination for Muslim families and individuals seeking quality food without compromising their values.
The customer service was equally outstanding. The staff were friendly, attentive, and professional throughout our visit. From taking our orders promptly to checking in to make sure everything was satisfactory, they made us feel welcomed and valued. Even during busy hours, they managed to keep the flow smooth without making anyone feel rushed or ignored. It’s clear the team is well-trained and genuinely cares about delivering a positive experience.
The atmosphere inside the restaurant is cozy yet vibrant. The space is clean, tastefully decorated, and has a comfortable layout that works well for both small and larger groups. It’s great for a casual night out or even a small celebration. The high foot traffic is a clear sign of how popular and loved this restaurant is in the community.
Now, if I had to point out one area for improvement—it would be the bathroom situation. There’s currently only one single-person restroom, which feels insufficient considering how busy the restaurant gets, especially during peak hours. With the volume of customers they serve, it would be much more efficient and convenient to have multiple restrooms or a gender-specific multi-stall setup. It’s a small downside, but definitely something that should be considered as the business continues to grow and thrive.
That said, the overall experience was truly excellent. The food was so good, we’re still thinking about it days later. You can taste the authenticity, the fresh ingredients, and the love that goes into each dish. It's the kind of food that hits both the stomach and the soul.
If you're in the East York area or even just visiting Toronto, I highly recommend stopping by Padma Restaurant. Whether you're looking for a delicious halal meal, warm hospitality, or just a place that feels like home, Padma has it all. We’ll definitely be back—and next time, bringing even more friends and...
Read moreCame here with my family as we were in the neighborhood and craving some classic desi snacks. We ordered 3 of the fuchkas, 1 of the muglai paratha, and 2 of the lemonades. We were told our order would take 15 mins to come out, which we thought was reasonable. When we first arrived at the restaurant it was around 6pm so a not so busy time. I saw our lemonades sitting behind the counter for 10 minutes wondering when the server would hand them out to us. I do feel for her as she seemed to be the only person taking orders for everyone in the restaurant plus manning the cash register. We were finally given our lemonades and proceeded to wait for our snacks. It took nearly 30 mins for them to come out and at this point the restaurant was fairly busy. We were all left feeling EXTREMELY disappointed with both the snack orders. The fuchkas looked fantastic, presentation was excellent but the shells were soft and not crunchy. I assume the fuchkas were filled and left for some time, maybe the garnishing took a while, I’m not sure. The taste was ok, the pani could have been more sweet, it tasted more savoury so lacked that kaatha mitha flavour that one expects. The muglai parathas were thick, lacked filling, and flavour. The sauce was the best part of the dish. The lemonades were tasty but could have been better balanced with less sugar and more salt. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice, and i appreciate the overall cleanliness, but that won’t get me to come back here unfortunately. $50 later and we left feeling dissatisfied and...
Read moreNew restaurant, heard kacchi is best but very disappointed us . If you are a real kacchi lover and had real kacchi in Bangladeshi then you will get this. They don’t even know what real kacchi is. Too much colour in rice, orange, red, yellow ( lost my appetite right way) also lot of gravy with beef, ruined the flavour of rice, beef was burnt and dry. Looked like gravy was mixed separately. Most Importantly they added a lot of Beresta on top of rice, don’t know why ( fried onion) . It made rice crunchy I had to remove them before eating. Why did you add this way too much ? Just to look nice ? I couldn’t taste the flavour of rice due to that. Provided kabab was nice of them but didn’t get what type of kabab was it . Tasteless. We tried both mutton and beef kacchi. Both tasted same and same condition of rice.
They need to stop adding too many various food colours also the gravy was way too much and didn’t taste as kacchi.
Atmosphere was really nice. Owner was very kind. I know they are new to this business but need to learn how to cook the kacchi. Kacchi has an authentic smells which was missing as well. I am sorry for this review , but this might help them to improve their quality of foods. I didn’t try any other foods. Will try only snacks next time.
Price was same as other...
