I recently revisited Ginger on Church after a decade, prompted by the pride parade, and I am delighted to say that this place remains an absolute gem. Since my high school days, the taste of their Banh Mi has remained unchanged and still manages to captivate my taste buds with its incredible flavors.
The friendly staff and their impeccable service have also stood the test of time. Despite the bustling crowd, they were attentive, welcoming, and ensured that my order was promptly prepared. The efficiency and quickness with which they served customers without compromising on quality were truly impressive.
Ginger on Church provides an authentic taste of Vietnam that is both nostalgic and satisfying. The Banh Mi, with its perfectly balanced combination of fresh ingredients and delectable fillings, is a culinary masterpiece that transports you to the vibrant streets of Vietnam with every bite.
Now, I must address the matter of price increase. It's true that prices have gone up, but let's take a moment to consider the bigger picture. In a world where inflation and rising costs are affecting businesses everywhere, it's only natural for Ginger on Church to make adjustments to keep up with rent and other expenses. So, to those who complain about the price increase, I urge you to look around and acknowledge the reality that businesses must adapt in order to survive.
Despite the price adjustment, Ginger on Church continues to deliver exceptional value for the quality of food and service they provide. Their commitment to maintaining the same outstanding flavors and friendly atmosphere over the years is commendable. It's a testament to their dedication and resilience in the face of economic challenges.
Therefore, I wholeheartedly recommend Ginger on Church to anyone seeking an authentic Vietnamese culinary experience. Embrace the exquisite flavors, savor the warm hospitality, and understand that supporting local businesses in these changing times is crucial. Ginger on Church remains a shining example of how a business can thrive while staying true...
Read moreDear Readers.
My experience at this location it's been a greater let down of my afternoon. The noodle pho soup tasted only salt and some kind of mixed powder spice mix (msg). Nothing like home made, let alone restaurant quality.
I also ordered the large size oxtail pho. The portion it's much similar to small sized bowel and much Lesser quality ingredients used, instead of using the oxtail as the main ingredient as advertised, they compensate with cheap grade meat/fish balls. This location it's been a very is such a satisfactory. Aside from the oxetail meat. Everything else tasted not as good as other places around the street.
This next point. Nearly all the pho restaurants I been to throughout greater area Toronto. This it's the most lowerest quality and portion sizes and everything. Despite that I ordered an large bowl of pho.
Aside from the taste. The price it's considered average for a fast food establishment. Till they change the management of this location. One more thing. When you know the restaurant It's well managed. This establishment restroom; the current place It's very unhygienic, and in such of state of neglect. It's encourage to find a different PHO restaurant all together.

Read moreI have ordered hot and sour soup from Ginger for many years. When I moved to Etobicoke, I continued to come in to Church Street as other Ginger locations were not as tasty. On Monday, instead of buying 4 large take outs, I bought only two, coming to something over $36. I am 69 and reliant on a wheelchair. Coming back home, I had an accident coming out of Royal York subway station needing a hospital visit and 5 stitches.
On my way to recovery, I decided to have a treat of one of my soups. Turns out, they are grilled chicken and not boiled chicken, as requested. Staff had put the soups into a bag and hung it onto the handles of my wheelchair, so I did not check there at Ginger.
Though I never thought grilled would taste good (hence the reason for always buying boiled, I tried the grilled and for my taste, it is awful. I can't spend hours traveling to try and return the purchase.
But this is expensive for me and I wondered what might be able to be done. At least, please refund the cost of one soup. Sending a pic to show the purchase.
