Disastrous Visit to PitaPit on 4th January - Unacceptable Lack of Halal Compliance, Non-Delivery, and Denied Refund
My visit to PitaPit at 1975 Kennedy Rd, Scarborough, ON on Thursday, 4th January, was nothing short of a regrettable experience that demands attention.
Upon ordering a shawarma and inquiring about the halal status of the chicken, I was astonished to discover that the restaurant lacked a separate grill for halal items. This blatant non-compliance with halal standards raised serious concerns about the overall food preparation process.
Seeking a resolution, I requested a refund due to the failure to meet halal requirements. Shockingly, my request was met with a flat-out refusal from the staff. To exacerbate the situation, the food was never delivered due to the compliance issue.
In response to this unacceptable situation, I promptly reached out to PitaPit customer care, who advised me to send the receipt for a potential refund. Despite adhering to their instructions, there has been no response from PitaPit customer care as of the date of this review.
Frustrated and determined to find a resolution, I called the store on 8th January to speak directly to the owner. Unfortunately, my efforts were met with extreme rudeness, and the owner intentionally disconnected the call. Subsequent attempts to reconnect were futile, leaving the issue unresolved.
My visit to PitaPit on 4th January was marked by a lack of halal compliance, non-delivery of the ordered food, and shockingly poor customer service. I strongly caution potential patrons, especially those with specific dietary requirements, to steer clear of this restaurant.
Key Points:
Lack of a separate grill for halal preparation observed on 4th January. Refusal to provide a refund despite the non-compliance with halal standards and non-delivery of the food. Unresponsive customer care, leaving the issue unresolved as of the date of this review. Rude behavior and intentional disconnection from the store owner during a direct call on 8th January. I sincerely hope this review serves as a stark warning for others considering PitaPit and prompts the restaurant to urgently address these...
Read moreI decided I wanted to start eating.more healthy due to a diabetic diagnosis. So I went to Pita Pit on Kennedy and Progress, next to the Petro Canada gas station. I ordered a large salad. Gyro meat wirh extra meat and avocado etc. The guy prepping my food literally seemed like he was counting the amount of cubes of tomatoes, green peppers and cucumbers he was putting in my bowl. It was a pinch of each. I don't know about you but if I'm paying for something I expect to get a decent serving. Then to put the icing on the cake he took a fork and scraped the crud (no exaggeration) from the empty avocado 🥑 bowl and put it on the edge of my salad bowl. He didn't even have the decency to get me any from their stock. I wasn't even worth that as a customer. This guy should be fired. Like completely fired. That was my last meal from Pita Pit on Kennedy. Their food really tastes good but this kind of service is reprehensible. Never again. Never never again. To the owners if you're reading this. Get better people to work in your establishment. This has left a bitter taste in my mouth. Expensive lesson learnt. Should have...
Read moreToday I walked in this restaurant And I won’t do it again ever.
As I walked there was a young couple front of me and I am assuming a mother in law with them. they ordered, and stepped aside. Then I ordered and sat down.
Then the assumed mother in law went into the bathroom then the couples started to joke with The shorter female staff member Saying, can you put some tranquilizer in the old ladies wrap?
In my opinion, customers can joke about whatever they want but what turned me off is when the staff member joined this disgusting conversation.
The staff member said yeah I can pour some THC in for you to make her quiet ha ha ha. The staff member(shorter female) also mentioned that she has a baby and she feels the same way sometimes. Basically (Drugging her baby)
This kind of jokes like: food poisoning and morbid jokes doesn’t belong in a restaurant specially if someone walks in for the first time just like I am.
And then I canceled my order got my money back and left.
Who knows if pita pit is actually drugging people or not? Not gonna risk it...
