Shawarma Royale — Restaurant in Toronto

I ate here with my family on Sunday evening and I was appalled how they handle their food. Firstly, I noticed the all the staff was wearing gloves and that great. The environment looked clear and professional, but then the woman who was cashing us out was handling the money in her hands with the gloves on. She did not wash her hands nor changed her gloves. She went straight to holding the vegetables and utensils with the same gloves on. I was disgusted and I thought automatically cross contamination. This is a violation itself considering food safety in Ontario.

Following this, I noticed a male staff member wearing gloves and his apron while handling the broom and sweeping dirty. That was also another violation for food safety, but that's not all.

The lady who did not changed her gloves was handling a pad near the cashier and shortly afterwards the man sweeping with the apron on walked over and touching the same pad. He did not change his gloves nor took them off. Again, another way to cross contaminate food. I was disgusted and more displeased.

Against our better judgement we stayed and the lady who handled the money prepared the food.

I was disturbed and I would not be going back to this location. I would not recommend this place to no one.

Plus, the portions they serve is not worth it for the money.

I would advise to stay clear...

Every. Single. Time. That I order delivery from these people, they mess something up. I'm not kidding, in 10+ orders they have literally never, ever gotten my order right. They send you a single, small and pathetic handful of french fries that are soggy and bland, and put so little sauce in their wraps that it's actually embarassing when compared to ANY other shawarma place. (Genuinely look at the pic I posted. That's ALL the fries they send).

Did you order extra sauce? Prepare to not receive it. What kind of drink did you order? It doesn't matter, they will choose at random. Did you order during a lunch rush? Doesn't matter, the chicken is still somehow remarkably dry and crunchy.

They upped their prices, and have officially lost my business forever. It's C+ food at best, and they can't even get THAT right. Seriously, how hard is it to send someone extra sauces if you have the audacity to charge $1 per sauce? Just gonna forget them anyway and take my money? Lovely, goodbye forever to a restaurant that is essentially a scam to steal your cash.

They literally cannot do anything right, and they STILL overcharge. With arrogance like this, just order from somewhere else. They don't...

Went there 2 times. First time they made me wait 25 minutes for a chicken shawarma when I was the only person in the store. Shawarma was very dry and was undercooked.

Went again a week later at night and again extremely long wait time even when there is no one there. When I entered, the owner and the worker were talking to another couple and made me wait 10 minutes so they could finish their conversation and THEN take my order. The couple kept coming back to talk with the person taking my order and he would completely ignore me and start conversing again. This time the owner, half bald middle aged man, cooked the food. I don’t think he is licensed to cook. The meat was burnt, almost black. It was hard and tasted like stones. You could tell the meat was so burnt and so salty that, even the bread they put on the grill afterwards became salty. 15 dollars for ONE burnt, salty, dry shawarma. I was genuinely so hungry but I had to throw with the entire shawarma away as it was fully burnt, hard as a rock and not edible.

Please don’t waste ur money here. The atmosphere might look nice but the food and the staff are horrible. I genuinely never leave bad reviews but this...
