I want to report racism at the King St East 114 M5CWB8 branch. The Server whose name is Alex (but I am not sure he gave his name correct or not). It happened on July 9th, 2019 4:30 PM. I want to drink beer with my girlfriend and he asked for our ID's which is totally understandable and it is his right to ask for our IDâs but the thing that is not understandable is his behavior towards me. My girlfriend showed her Canadian driverâs license and then I showed my Turkish driverâs licence and he asked for another CANADIAN ID from me but I am a tourist, and not Canadian. So, I showed him my valid Turkish passport as an ID certification and he still said he cannot accept it and asked me for another Canadian ID. Then, I wanted to speak with the manager because the passport is a valid ID and I do not have to have a Canadian ID to drink a beer while I am staying in Toronto. He talk with the bartender saying that she is the manager and she came to out table and did not even apologize or say something. My girlfriend showed valid ID certifications from the official SmartServe website and on the SmartServe official website, it says that valid passport is acceptable but whatever reason my Turkish passport is not accepted because it was a Turkish passport. Canada is known with it is unity and how the citizens are against racism and when this happened to me, I got frustrated because the server did not accept two of my IDâs because I am Turkish. If I have a European or a US passport, the server would have accepted it. I do not understand how he got trained and how the manager did not deal with this problem that the server was causing. I felt embarrassed. I do not want this to happen to any individual. Racism is not okay and I do not have to feel embarrassed nor frustrated.    Read more(12/19/17)Very bad service. Usually the wait is long bit the last time i went i got a table for two within a couple minutes. It went downhill from there. The server i got admitted it was her first day, but this could not excuse her poor service. She got us our drinks and when we ordered everything was fine, except our food took more than an hour. I wouldn't be mad if it werent for the fact that two big tables near us who sat down much after us got their food before us. When we asked about our food our server asked us for our flavours again and blamed the kitchen for holding it up, she said she would return with our food but instead we saw her go to the computer and punch in our order!! At this point it had been 50 mins. She then came over and gave us pop drinks (we think) we didnt order, without telling us what they were. When the wings came in i got the wrong flavour, you would think after telling her our order twice she would get it right. Instead of offering to remake them she told me a new batch would take too long, and that its best for me to just dip my mystery wings into the sauce i actaully wanted. Then she offered to give me a discount for the mistake. I work at a restaurant, not only would i have admitted to a guest that i forgot to punch their order in but i also know you can't disocunt already discounted food, as it was Tuesday.    Read moreI have been to this location a few times now, and each time, the service has slowly derailed down hill fast. The first time I would have given this a five star review because my server was very responsive and the food was good. The second time the food was good, but the service went down (my server wasn't willing to help with the slowness as her only response to a table next to me was "I can get the manager....". She wasn't willing to offer any help.
My last trip there today was ridiculous.
top two pet peeves when going out: 1.) Why do I have to have a completely empty drink before you offer a refill? Even worse, when I have to ask some random person to help out because my server can't be found anywhere. Having an offer to fill up the drink when it is half empty is what a good server should do. I'm sitting there half empty because I'm afraid if I drink it, I won't have any liquid left. Please fill it up.
2.) waiting, literally 10+ minutes, with my card out on the table to for my meal before my server paid any notice of my wanting to pay and go. She had no concept of the flow of the meal.
Side notes: Going to a wing place and skimping on the napkins to the guests is pretty cheap in my opinion. Not providing a single napkin or wet nap is beyond annoying.
The men's washroom has one urinal you have to squeeze through saloon style doors and then you're standing in a dark corner of the washroom to take care of your business. a.)
