I attended a concert in Meridian Hall on Sunday, January 14, 2024. A music performance in Persian by Homayoun Shajarian. While this wasn’t the first concert I attended in this venue, it was probably among the best of them. Location: Meridian Hall is on the intersection of front Street and Young Street One of the busiest areas in downtown Toronto close to the Brookfield Place, Union Station, San Lawrence area, and san, Lawrence Marquette, and all the shops and restaurants on front street. The concert was at 5:30 but wet some previous bad experiences of hitting heavy traffic in downtown Toronto we left at 3:45 and could find a parking in the parking lot under Brookfield Place at 4:30 so we had a full hour before the concert. We grabbed a coffee at Brookfield place’s Tim Hortons and chilled till 5 o’clock. Then we crossed the street to Meridian Hall, got our tickets checked, and were seated at around 5:15. despite the huge crowd, the event was sold out, there were enough staff, checking tickets, and helping people with seats, that the whole process was quick and smooth. However, by 530 people were still coming in. The band came on stage right at 5:30 and the concert got started on time which was a positive point. Another great arrangement was that the staff didn’t allow people to enter the venue while the performance was going on. However, when the first song was over, the doors were opened to let people who were late to be seated. This was not a good idea, because they were not seated by the time the second song started, and the situation was quite chaotic at the beginning of the second song, and the beginning of the third song, and the beginning of the fourth song! Back to the venue, Meridian Hall is a wonderful venue for music concerts. The sound engineering, and the quality of the music we heard, was absolutely flawless. Everything was perfectly designed and timed and performed. The staff were present in the venue to make sure everything is going smoothly and would ask people to turn off their flashes if they were filming or taking pictures. With the help of the staff, and the excellent design of the Meridian Hall, exiting the venue was also smooth, and we left with a wonderful memory of this great performance.

Attending our daughters' graduation from Seneca Polytechnic at Meridian Hall was a memorable experience. Situated in the heart of downtown Toronto, Meridian Hall (formerly the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) is a venue that effortlessly combines historical grandeur with modern comfort, making it an ideal location for such a significant event. Meridian Hall boasts a stunning architectural design that immediately captures the eye. The grand entrance, with its spacious lobby and elegant décor, sets a tone of sophistication. Inside, the hall features a mix of contemporary and classic elements, creating an inviting and impressive atmosphere. The seating arrangement is well-thought-out, offering clear sightlines and comfortable seating, ensuring that everyone has a great view of the stage. The acoustics at Meridian Hall are exceptional. Every speech and musical performance during the graduation ceremony was crystal clear, allowing us to fully appreciate the momentous occasion. The sound system is top-notch, which enhances the overall experience, whether it's a spoken word or a musical interlude. The venue is equipped with modern facilities that cater to a large audience. The restrooms are clean and well-maintained, and there are plenty of them to avoid long queues. Accessibility is also a key feature of Meridian Hall, with ramps, elevators, and designated seating for guests with mobility issues, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the event without any hassle. The staff at Meridian Hall were courteous and professional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with smiles and guided efficiently to our seats. They were attentive and ready to assist with any inquiries, contributing to a smooth and enjoyable experience. Located in a vibrant part of Toronto, Meridian Hall is easily accessible by public transportation, with ample parking options nearby. The surrounding area is bustling with restaurants and cafes, providing plenty of options for a post-event meal or celebration. The proximity to key city landmarks also adds to the convenience and appeal of the venue.

Once called the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, Meridian Hall is an excellent venue for events. Our most recent visit was for the Dreamcatcher Concert (KPOP girl group). Featured here are images from the concert taken at upper level seats. What makes Meridian Hall such a great venue is that all seats offer an excellent viewpoint of the stage. There are no pillars or odd structures that will obstruct your view. Even at the upper level, we had no issues seeing the stage. The space offers 3000+ seating which also makes it the ideal size to feel like you're at a huge event while being just cozy enough so you can see the performers easily. Sound quality was good as well - clear vocals and music; room temperature was cool to offset all the bodies in the building. Staff present were all polite, professional, and readily available to help patrons navigate to their seats which can be a little confusing (but that's the case for most events!). Bathrooms were clean and tidy as was the concert hall itself. A few points to note: Meridian Hall is multi-level. Escalators are available and if memory serves me correctly, there are elevators as well - accessible! My one comment for feedback might be that signage could be better - there are TV screens throughout the building with updates. At our event, merchandise for purchase was located on the lower level. The PA system was used to inform patrons of this but there didn't appear to be signage for this. This might be event specific so not a negative critique of Meridian Hall. As of early Sept. 2023, there was street level construction outside of Meridian Hall so this may make it difficult to travel for some. Check the area before your event. Not a fault of Meridian Hall - the whole city is under construction it seems! It's just something to keep in mind - if you can't find/see something - be sure to ask the staff. They were lovely and very willing to help you navigate. Meridian Hall was a wonderful venue and I'll happily go back for another event sometime soon!

I am pleased to share my recent experience at Meridian Hall in Toronto, and I must say, it was absolutely amazing! The venue itself was stunning, with state-of-the-art facilities and a beautiful decor that gave off a luxurious vibe. However, what really stood out to me was the exceptional service provided by the manager, Lina. From the moment I arrived, she greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel incredibly welcome. Lina went above and beyond to ensure that my experience at Meridian Hall was nothing short of perfect. Throughout the event, Lina was incredibly attentive and responsive to any needs or concerns that arose. She was always on hand to answer any questions I had and was quick to resolve any issues that arose. Lina's professionalism and dedication to customer service were truly impressive, and it was clear that she genuinely cared about ensuring that each guest had an unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend Meridian Hall as a hot place for an event venue in Toronto, and Lina's exceptional service made my experience truly unforgettable. Her warm personality, attention to detail, and exceptional customer service skills made all the difference in creating a wonderful experience for me and all the guests in attendance. Thank you, Lina and Meridian Hall, for an unforgettable experience, and I look forward to returning soon! However, I have to say that the staff of the event I went to watch were just horrible! I will go back because the venue has nothing to do with the rudeness of some staff members of the artist

Nice venue. Comfortable seating. Friendly staff. Decent leg room and cup holders located on the back of the chair of the row in front. There is no dedicated parking but there are 3 underground lots (Brookfield, Esplanade, and the lot on Scott) in very close proximity listed on the website and street parking all around the area. We chose street parking (so easy using the GreenP app) a few minutes walk away because we didn’t want to get stuck trying to get out of underground parking when everyone else is trying to do the same thing once the show ends. After the show it was super quick to get away from the crowd, walk to our car and we were off and away! So lovely to be able to watch a show again. Employees were wearing masks but those attending the show had the option to wear it or not. We watched Just for Laughs hosted by Rick Mercer on Friday night. It was a good line up of comedians but we enjoyed Rick and Ivan Decker the most. The concession stand was open before the show and during intermission. They offer alcohol and non-alcohol options, popcorn, Twix chocolate bar and chips. We wanted the Swedish berries which is basically gummy bears but they were sold out so had to settle for popcorn and Twix and an apple juice. It would be good if the ladies bathroom had more stalls. As usual there was a massive line up during intermission. Perhaps if renovations are made in the future this could be looked at. Overall a very enjoyable evening.

Went to a comedy show here. Photo is the view from seat E41. A large venue that seats more than 3,000. Sightlines look good. I was really impressed by the seats. They are large and have a good amount of legroom. I'm about 6'2" and fat. I sat next to another large man and we weren't bumping or crowding each other. As for accessibility, we I didn't check out the designated wheelchair spaces, but I did see that most (possibly all) of the seats in the orchestra level have step-free access. They would be good for someone who can walk but can't climb stairs. EDIT to respond to reply: I know you have wheelchair accessible seating and I'm sure it's great. However, many people are ambulatory but have limitations. I have a family member like that, so I notice if someone who can walk but can't climb stairs can access an area. For someone who uses a cane but can't climb stairs, it looks like they can use just about any seat on the orchestra level, which is great.
