I recently found myself looking for a new opportunity and turned to Kent Legal to assist in my job search, as I haven't been in the job market for about 5 years.
I reached out to Keiran Glynn, who happens to be the president at Kent Legal. The very next day we connected on the telephone and a quick zoom chat. Keiran was a great listener, understood what I was looking for in my next role, and is a very companionate person. She had 3 opportunities for me right away and scheduled interviews within 2 days! I ensured that I stayed flexible and took all of the opportunities to interview, even if the job wasn't exactly what I was looking for, as you just never know what can happen. Within 4 days of starting my job search I was able to secure a job, and very excited to be starting soon.
I thought the quality of positions and employers that go to Kent Legal speaks volumes of their relationships with both small and big law firms in the GTA. Kent Legal has obviously proven they are a respected head hunter/recruiter for the legal community.
I was very nervous about interviewing, as its been some time, but Keiran was there every step of the way. She even helped me practice both phone and virtual interviewing techniques, practice questions and gave suggestions as well.
Keiran also kept me up to date on feedback from interviews, followed up promptly with both myself and employers and overall was just a joy to work with.
If anyone is looking for a new opportunity in the legal field in the GTA, I would recommend Kent Legal and will use them again for my next opportunity if or when the time comes.
Thank you, Keiran!! You made a very stressful situation so much easier to navigate and get my...
Read moreUpdate: I have a pretty long history going back several years with this company. When I was in the market for a new role, I often reached out or applied to roles there but never officially landed a role through its recruitment services. Many other recruitment agencies ghost candidates so I am reluctant to take any poor excuses from them because I have heard them all before. In any case, I took a leap of faith and applied to a role again and the recruiter was very apologetic. Although I have a lot more experience compared to 5-6 years ago, I am feeling cautiously optimistic. I will update my review pending the outcome of my applications.
This place has never been a good service to me. Ive known this place since 2014 and always lets me down. I have been ghosted on and off for years. I gave them a last chance after being burnt out due to stress at my current job. We scheduled a phone call and I called 10 minutes late because I got held up at work. This was obviously my fault but I did call back and left a message. I didn't hear back until I got an email at the end of the day apologizing for the missed call. Seems like the recruiter stood me up. I called and the receptionist said "she just stepped out for a second". I received an email from her, not a call back, but an email at the end of the day. Apologizing again. Seems like shes just too...
Read moreI received Melissa's contact at Kent Legal from a co-worker at my temp job. Melissa wrote me back almost immediately, wanting a copy of my resume, and after that, to meet. Melissa was very attentive and understanding of what I was looking for- work within the downtown core, administrative, permanent, and a work-life balance. Within a couple of days of meeting with Melissa, she sent me off to an interview. Everything went really well, and this interview turned into three more interviews at this company, and they hired me on! The whole process took two months, but that's on the employer, and not Kent Legal. Part of it may have been luck with timing but Melissa always replied to my questions promptly, was very patient, and informative when I got frustrated about the wait times. And all of that is because of her experience, so I do thank her very much. I have to commend Kent Legal as overall, I had a very positive experience, and was offered an interview quickly. I have worked with three other agencies at this time, and even though I told them the same thing I told Melissa, they only offered me 1 day jobs here and there at minimum wage, and two phone interviews that amounted to nothing. One of them did place me for longer at a law firm, but again, my insistence on something permanent didn't amount...
