Went for brunch with one other person on a late Saturday morning. This was the first time trying out this location - we absolutely LOVE OTHER Sunset Grills outside of Toronto area. They're busy, we get it. The wait time wasn't very bad, just 5 minutes for the outdoor dining on a beautiful day! See pictures of everything outlined here. - water was served in plastic glasses that smelled terrible due to them being exposure to high sanitation temperatures. - Iced coffee (on their summer special menu) was brought out with so much ice, even though I requested less ice. Looked very watered down already. I told the server kindly about there being no less ice, she got me another glass that basically looked like ice taken out, and water poured to fill the rest. - Hot coffee tasted terrible - home fries were underdone and burnt on the outside - pancakes were burnt on the underside for both - spinach and feta wrap only had feta concentrated at the ends of the wrap and tasteless with all those un-seasoned egg whites (which never was the case at other Sunset Grills) - on the BOTTOM of the scrambled eggs and home fries plate, we noticed something pink and green stuck, which was red onion and avocado stuck from SOMEONE ELSE'S plate (we never ordered this item!) Needless to say, I won't be going back, and this management should be under sanitary review...

The food is what is to be expected, solid straight forward North American breakfast fair. The staff is friendly and attentive, however the wait for the food can be forever. The kitchen seems to always be slammed( putting out huge take out orders while the dining room is relatively empty) Today I observed two overworked cooks ( the benefits of an open kitchen) make enough food to feed 60 people in the 15 minutes I sat in an empty dining room after ordering. The order sat unacknowleged, and was not even started in that 15 minutes or through 3 refills of coffee. This was of concern, and due to time constraints I was forced to cancel it to make it to class. The trick is you run a breakfast joint in the downtown core, you can't afford to make folks wait almost half an hour to get their foo at 8 am, that will kill your popularity as people go elsewhere to find a quicker option. The location is convenient, the staff is friendly, the food us good, if you manage to get it.

Was in Toronto for the weekend and was looking for a place for breakfast. Decided to try the sunset grill, it was pretty busy but service was quick, we ate on the patio as indoor seating was full. The lady who greeted us and took us to our table was friendly as well as our server. We were served in a timely manner and it wasn't a long wait for our food either. The food was freshly cooked as you can see into the kitchen and see the staff hard at work. Everything was cooked to the way we asked for and was awesome. We got the sunset super with scambled eggs, crisp bacon, pancakes , hash browns and ordered a side of toast. The portion sizes were good, could not finish it all! Also the price was good, was expecting my bill to be way more for what we got but it was reasonable at around $42 for two to have a full breakfast with coffee. thanks for the food sunset grill!

Wanted to start off by saying that Sunset Grill is one of my fav breakfast go-to with one caveat... in the GTA. With that said, this location is one you should skip.

It was my first time going to this location since it's more conveniently located, but was surprised at the whole experience. I tried to go again actually to see if it was just a one-off experience, but it seems to be the standard here.

First off, you get way less food for some reason. Pancakes are MUCH smaller (by inches), and it feels like everything else (aside from the meat) is skimmed down, and white sloppily thrown into containers btw. I also barely got any condiments like butter, syrup--the second time I came I made sure to ask cause I wasn't willing to choke again. I don't know if this is because it's a downtown location and the price is the same everywhere, but that feels shady that I get less food here. Though these were two takeout experiences, I noticed servers to not be as friendly as with the other locations in the GTA. Just like 'here's you're bag'.

I reached out to customer service via email with info to see what they would say. It took them over a week to respond, and when they finally did they told me about how they've informed the head department or whatever. I was actually hoping they would 'make it right' by refunding my money back or maybe giving me a voucher, which they didn't (at most restaurants would no problem). News flash, if I come forward with a poor experience as a long-time customer, the last thing I want to hear is 'welp we'll tell management, k bye.' and that's basically what I got. Super unprofessional with no effort to retain a long-time customer. I responded to the email indicating I wasn't satisfied with the 'resolution' and didn't hear back. But knowing how long it took to get a response first, maybe it's still on the way? (doubt it).

If you're desperate for some sloppy looking, skimmed breakfast without condiments, go here. But you're better off paying a bit more for a nicer breakfast...

The place looks good on the outside, very stressed and a tad unclean from the inside. The menu has a variety of options for eggs, including vegetarian ones. Unfortunately, when the order is put on the table regarding other options than eggs, it is on the cheapo side for presentation. Philadelphia is not even spread on the bagel, just put on top of the salmon which looks like a 3$ meal. Hence, you have to make your sandwich yourself. Regarding the eggs, very good presentation on English muffins, but for the potatoes, they were all undercooked. When we explained that, the short-tempered waitress simply offered another plate, even though they were also undercooked. We did not finished them and kindly asked for a discount since they did not bring us cooked food. She said it was the first complaint like this that she had heard all day and that it did not make sense, even though we also kindly told her she could taste them, since they were raw. She just brought us the machine without asking any more questions and left it on the table. We came back to her to tell her that we wanted to split the bill and she came back looking like we were making a scandal. She had such an attitude that we did not want to tip and she made such a big story about this, taking the machine away after having paid, saying "Happy?". It would have been fine for us to tip if it weren't for the rude attitude and doing nothing about resolving the uncooked food situation. We left the place with a very sour feeling, never to...
