Let me start by saying thank you for letting me use your bathroom. Your generosity encouraged me to buy a sandwich and coffee. I’ll try to keep this positive.

The coffee was good although the sugar at the bottom of the cup was undissolved. I also ordered a chopped egg on a twister bagel. The lady asked if I would like it toasted, to which I declined. She suggested that I choose a different bagel as the twisters we’re not fresh and a little hard. I thought that was so sweet. She suggested a sesame bagel instead. Thank the lord she suggested a softer bagel as the sesame bagel was hard, so I probably would have chipped a tooth or dislocated my jaw on the twister. Then came the bill, she actually charged me extra for the 1 leaf of lettuce and a slice of tomato she put on it. It said 35 cents each ingredient. But I didn’t say anything, she doesn’t make the rules, right? I declined the request for a tip with a smile. $10.00 wow!

Please ask your clients if they want extras on their food before putting them on or charging us. I won’t be back to your location as your bagels are terrible, your service is horrible and you over charge. (And this is me being positive as my first draft was much nastier.) And if the tax man is reading this, they offer a great deal, they offer 10% off for cash sales. Last word, if you didn’t have a bathroom, you would have received one star. So...

Ok so not that I believe too often that reviews matter as there will always be someone happy/unhappy based on a service but after many years and visits frequenting this location, felt warranted to finally do this. First, I do my very best to now avoid this specific location but will once in a while attempt again in hopes it gets better. I understand how sometimes thankless it can be to work in the service industry and am truly appreciative of what those that give even 25% of care do but there is this one counter person who just completely lacks the easiest of listening skills to a very easy order. She’s quick to try and just get an order made when usually always gets it wrong which causes me to ask her to remake the simple order that is. I believe she may be a manager or full time as usually there a lot...at least from when I’ve visited. Not sure if anyone else has this issue and like I said would normally just shrug off as have done too many times. Was there reluctantly today, no one in the store, once again does not listen to the order. Asked her nicely what the reason was on why she always does that but she shrugged it off without understanding the question. Anyway, that’s all and sorry for the long...

10:25AM on October 28… Extremely aggressive almost bullying service. I asked 3 times for a club on everything bagel. I then ask for pickles to which I was ignored and then asked again and he was presumably making my sandwich (which in fact he was) then aggressively mumbled and pointed at the til. Then he tally’s up all and charges me for 2 sandwiches, which is incorrect I only ordered ONE but needed to repeat myself five times. Clearly he still didn’t listen to my order. I just agreed to pay for both but again wanted to confirm about the pickles (as not once was I acknowledged for the pickle request. Then he responds: No. Anyway then the system didn’t work to pay. This level of service wasn’t just bad it was DISTURBING. I understand we all have bad days but this was gravely inappropriate behaviour from an employee. Please try better because we should not be projecting our bad days or emotional trauma onto guests; this experience was highly concerning. It was barely 10:30AM and the level of anger and aggression experienced for trying to order a one BLT on everything bagel with pickles turns into so much animosity and...

While 'The Bagel House' offers bagels that are ACTUALLY like Montreal style bagels (no other place in Toronto comes close) at what today would be considered reasonable prices, their service and the atmosphere sucks! When will restaurants learn that the customer experience they offer is just as important, if not more so, as the quality of the food they offer. I have been to 'The Bagel House' several times, hoping maybe I just caught them off on a bad day, but unfortunately every time I have gone the service has been slow and the attitude of the staff has been "I'm doing you a favour." The establishment is cramped, with hardly any seating area, which is right by the door and therefore uncomfortable. While 'The Bagel house' does offer bagels that are on point, at best they are a take out joint for those who have the time to wait due to slow service.

I wrote a review earlier but wasn't able to post the photo of how bad my sandwich was. I had a meal here about an hour or so ago, and I can feel the stomachache coming on. Easily the worst bagel sandwich I've ever had. The bagel was bad, and the meat was the worst, I've ever had. For $10, this is an absolute ripoff. The server didn't have the decency to even give me a copious amount of meat for the amount he charged. Look at the paltry amount of meat he gave! On top of that, do you see the light blue lining the fat of the smoked meat? Horrendous. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I understand that this is a mom and pop shop, and as good citizens we should be helping them, because they are the backbone of our economy, but please, it would be nice, if they gave an effort at serving their customers well. It starts by serving fresh meat!

I like that this location is open 24 hours. In this area, most food establishments seem to close by about 9pm. Though the food was good, the service was not. There was one lady working when I visited and for each customer, it was difficult to get her attention because she seemed much more fixated on cleaning the area behind the counter. For one customer, they waited for at least seven minutes before she turned around and did not seem to hear customers calling her. Despite her attention to cleaning behind the counter, the seating area was not clean and there were crumbs on the seats and tables.
