We were mindful for months not to write this review, not wanting to hurt a small business but I would have appreciated more honest and upfront reviews of this business before booking. Not sure where all the 5 star reviews came from considering they just opened... We ordered their three-layered strawberry sponge cake for our engagement, and it didn’t even survive the one-block drive home. The cake completely collapsed in on itself—not just flopped over, but cracked in half and caved in the middle. I called them immediately, and after 3 tries, someone finally answered. The young man at the front was polite and apologetic, but mentioned that this wasn’t the first time this had happened. That left us wondering why proper supports hadn’t been placed in the cake in the first place, especially if this issue had occurred before. We rushed back, the lady baking very nonchalantly said she could “probably” fix it in the next 20-30mins if we wanted to hang out and wait, the nonchalant attitude in a time sensitive situation made things frustrating. Picking up the cake was the last thing on our to-do list before heading to the engagement, so this delay set us back significantly. They added supports to the cake, and it was fine the second time around but this should never have been an issue to begin with. The cake itself was lovely and tasted great, which makes this all the more disappointing because we would have considered using them for our wedding. However, we can’t risk going through this kind of stress again, especially given the cost of the cake. I hope they improve their customer service experience moving forward. The "chef" did not offer an apology once OR offer a discount or some form of compensation, that would have shown they cared about the inconvenience caused and could have led to us being returning customers for years to come. ** Simply fixing your error does not show you care about customer experience, thats your bare minimum job when the cake is $200+. If honest reviews hurt your small business, there are things you need to be reconsidering.

Vanilla Bite is becoming one of my go-to spots for both casual sweet treats and special occasion desserts. This cozy bakery/cafe features a modern, minimalistic interior and a welcoming atmosphere. The space is small, with just a handful of seats available, which gives it a more intimate feel. It’s perfect for a quick stop to grab something to go or to catch up with a friend, but not really a spot for big groups or working for long periods of time. The couple who run the place seem incredibly genuine and passionate about their craft. Every time I visit, I’m greeted with a friendly smile, and the person behind the counter always takes the time to chat with customers. One time, he even shared that they source their high-quality vanilla from Madagascar - such an interesting detail that speaks to their commitment to quality. My first experience with Vanilla Bite was when my partner ordered a lemon-themed cake for my birthday a few months ago. This was my first time planning a themed party and ordering a custom cake, so I was a little nervous. But the whole process was seamless, and the cake turned out perfect - both in appearance and taste. It really made the occasion special! Since then, I’ve been back several times and have tried a variety of items. Their flat whites, vanilla lattes, matcha lattes, and cookies have all been consistently delicious. The Maple Toffee Walnut Cookie is a standout and one of my faves. Earlier today, I picked up their layered strawberry sponge cake for my mom’s birthday, which was not only beautiful but also incredibly tasty. My family loved it too. If you’re in downtown Toronto, I can’t recommend Vanilla Bite enough. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick coffee, craving a cookie, or ordering something special for an event, you won’t be disappointed. It’s a local gem that I’m so glad to have in the city :)

I recently had the pleasure of ordering from here, and I must say, it was an absolute delight!

The selection of cakes here is nothing short of extraordinary. They offer a wide range of flavors and designs that cater to every palate and occasion. I ordered their CHOCOLATE GANACHE CAKE, and it was a symphony of rich, moist layers that left me craving for more.

What sets Vanilla Bite Bakery apart is not just the quality of their cakes but also their exceptional customer service. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and patient, helping me choose the ideal cake for my event. They even accommodated a last-minute customization request with a smile! Special shoutout to Kevin for delivering the flowers along with the cake

The presentation of their cakes is top-notch. Each creation is a work of art, beautifully decorated and meticulously crafted. It's clear that the bakers are passionate about their craft, and it shines through in every detail.

As if that weren't enough, the cake prices are also reasonable, considering the quality and craftsmanship that go into their products. You get incredible value for your money.

In conclusion, I can't say enough good things about Vanilla bite bakery. It's a true gem in Toronto, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone in search of delectable cakes and a wonderful overall experience. I can't wait for my next visit to VBB to explore more of their delicious creations. Kudos to the team for setting the standard for...
