This is a review of the location at The Well.
Gorgeous space in the lobby of 8 Spadina Avenue. Designed as a kiosk café so not a lot of dedicated cafe seating maybe 5 tables along the windows. Only drawback of this location. But perfect to grab a coffee and walk around The Well for window shopping.
As with other locations, deMello coffee blends on sale to bring home including unique blends such as NomNom coffee (Vietnamese style). I am a fan of deMello blends and I like they are local. The day I visited one of the blends for takeaway coffee was Dead Man Walking and I tried a cup of that. Yup sounds strong and it was - but not bitter. Very enjoyable. Baked goods for sale too including vegan options.
I must say I love deMello’s whole vibe including the Asian influence. Happy to support Asian owned business. The medium sized cups (the orange ones) have the tiger logo - very cool reminds me of Tai Lung from Kung Fu Panda 😀. The lids allow you to sip from the cup or via a straw.
Good coffee and good vibes. ...
Read moreDe Mello Coffee is something that has been on my bucket list for some time and I finally got around to it! I'd come back to this place to try out their other stuff.
📝🚗 No parking within this area, unless you decide to park further down from here (we parked near a local park), or take the TTC.
🥘☕️ We've ordered the Blueberry Latte (8/10), I've never tried anything like it, and it does have a good blueberry flavour without being too overwhelming. A latte (9/10), the coffee beans are good and strong. The Banana Chocolate Muffin and Chocolate Danish is a 9/10.
The prices range form $5-8 depending on the type of drink and pastry/dessert you purchase. Unless you purchase their coffee beans, it costs near $30.
🌿✨️ The aesthetics of this place has a modern wooden look, and they plenty seatings inside the cafe as well as within The Well.
🤍 Customer service is amazing, they try their best to explain the new flavours to you so you can have a feel of what to order. They make everything hot, fresh, and...
Read moreUsed to love ordering their beans but the attitude of the baristas at this location has turned me off the brand entirely.
For the price you pay I’d expect staff to at least show some courtesy and not act so rude, shoving coffee in your direction and not acknowledging your presence at all. I’d expect that kind of service from Tims, not a place that apparently prides themselves on “good service and good coffee”.
Speaking of the actual coffee at this place, it’s nothing special. I think the beans they use are rather bland and you can’t really taste anything but the milk. Which is surprising as they have a great catalog of beans online with interesting flavours!!
I guess it might be that this location specifically misses the mark. Maybe their others are better but with so many other great cafes around I cant say I’m really enticed by De...
