The Village Juicery has been my favourite source of cold pressed juices for many years, and has several locations across the city.
The Bloor West location is located by the corner or Runnymede Rd and Bloor St, in the heart of Bloor West Village. The shop is narrow with a small seating area at the front by the windows. I visited this location recently and decided to try their Strawberry Glow Smoothie. The smoothie itself was delicious, and is currently my new favourite smoothie, although I do find it a little expensive compared to other places. The staff at this location was nice, though a little slow... It took a while for me to get drink even though I was the only one in the store at that time.
Their juice prices is slightly higher than regular juices, but each bottle is full of flavour and healthy ingredients, and there's a large selection of flavors to choose from. The "Be Active" is my regular go to flavour but I've enjoyed many of the other flavours as well. They also serve other healthy items like smoothies, coffee, tea, salad bowls, breakfast jars, soups, wraps, and orangic baked goods like brownies and cookies. One thing that stands out with the Village Juicery is that they make an effort to minimize waste through the use of glass containers and their recycling program. The recycling program encourages customers to return the glass containers for a tiny refund that they can save within their account if you have the app and use towards...
Read moreI love supporting local businesses, especially those that contribute positively to the health and wellness of our communities.
This location in particular has many staff members that do not wear masks, and does not promote customers wearing masks. Including at very high risk periods like the peak of wave 3, where many other food establishments had to remain closed. There have been times where I've seen 6 people in store without masks, both staff and customers, where covid cases were near five thousand daily.
I have contacted their head office and the response has been the same, our staff have mask exemptions. I can understand if some staff members have health issues and need mask alternatives, but I expect you to promote and encourage customers wearing masks and find ways to accommodate for staff who can not mask up.
You can also re-arrange your store to minimize exposure from staff who cannot wear masks, especially during high risk periods, as other businesses did so.
After numerous discussion with their staff and head office, I will no longer support Village Juicery.
There are no exemptions for being...
Read moreAfter finishing our appointment at Flow Hydrotherapy, we tried to exit the building by the door we came in from. The worker (who I wish I knew her name) immediately stopped us and told us to stay in the corner and that we couldn’t exit the building because there was another customer coming in. We had been in the building for 1 hour already, and we were not allowed to exit because she let other customers to walk in before we could leave. How does that make any sense? She mentioned the store being at capacity and that’s why we weren’t allowed to leave. The irony is that SHE WASNT EVEN WEARING A MASK. She’s serving food and beverages without a mask? And she’s trying to enforce the capacity limit like she actually cares about the restrictions. This was the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever experienced, I can’t believe we were refused to leave the building. I filed a complaint to the city about the worker not wearing a mask. I hope they take action against this location. They are ridiculous and have no common sense to wear a mask. You’re serving food and beverages, you have no excuse to not...
