I'm very disappointed with you guys, mainly because I liked your place. You have the best green mango salad in town. I enjoyed your Tom Yum creatures, and that risotto stole my heart.

However; when my partner ordered something new, I was hugely disappointed. For the first time in my life, I couldn't eat anything from my order. The food was smelly, greasy, and messed up.

Sizzling Chicken Pot came with everything but chicken meat because there were just chicken bones, skin, and grease. It was simply impossible to eat.

Coconut Thai soup came with weird, mushy noodles, mushrooms, and corn, both from cans and not fresh. Instead of chicken breast, they added fish balls, unidentified sausage, and unknown chicken parts. I understood it as a fusion of Tom Kha and Hot Pot, but there was no description.

Stir Vegetables were a pure disaster. First, they marked it as a vegetarian dish, and what could go wrong with simple stir-fry? Everything! The veggies were not crunchy. They added canned corn and mushrooms again, and what was shocking was that they added shrimp paste. Perhaps the chef wanted to add their creativity, or they lost their mind not informing people about such a nice touch. C'mon, it's marked as vegetarian.

I hope you can work on improving the quality of your food. Please cook noodles properly, use better chicken parts (people can't eat bones; we are not dogs, after all), and use fresh veggies instead of canned ones.

Be careful with descriptions, and be transparent and precise about your ingredients.

PS, I wish I was refunded, but you...

Decent food but could use more training on staff and balance the dishes more.

Food: Ever so slightly missed the spot. The stirfry veggies were a little too salty. Fish ball soup is missing some flavours and little bland. Leng saap(pork bone soup) is considered the star dish but the lime leaf is a bit overpowering, can use more pork bone flavour and perhaps chilies. oatmeal ovaltine cold drink was nice, not too sweet

Staff: DEFINITELY COULD USE MORE TRAINING. The two of us asked to sit at a four-top table when we walked in around 10pm as we see many tables available AND there were two people sitting at a 4-top table already. They didn’t let us. HOWEVER, when the next couple walked in and asked to sit at the same 4-top, a different server did. I did feel we were being treated unfairly and that mood got carried into the whole meal.

A few other things is that the servers felt necessary to ask us if we are sharing food AFTER I asked for sharing plates. That just felt a bit redundant. We asked for Thai chilies because they are in a couple of our dishes, but our server was confused and had to confirm with another server.

Not going to lie I did have better expectations of this spot. Overall I wish booth the food and service can have more consistency here. Even as a mandarin speaker, I wish that servers spoke a bit better English for non Chinese speaking people to have a...

In the photo Laksa Satay beef and scrambled eggs on rice Thai basil chili minced pork w/ fried egg

Price for Thai basil dish: $16.99 (after tax + tip = $21.50)

When ordering, you use a QR code on the table and there is free Wi-Fi. A waitress came to double-check our orders and asked about spice level. All the dishes came out at about the same time.

I only tried my dish that I ordered. The portion of minced pork is great. The ratio feels like 6:4ish in terms of pork to rice. Because I wasn't sure about spice level, I asked for just a bit. I recommend just getting the regular amount as it would add more flavour to the pork through the chilis added. On top of rice and pork, there were two pieces of broccoli, a small fried egg and a pile of can corn. The taste of the basil was quite nice with the sweet and saltiness of the pork. The flavor overpowers the taste of the corn and rice when eaten together a bit but that's fine! I'd give this dish a 6.2/10

My friend who got the laksa rated it a 7/10 and said it wasn't like Indonesia but still hits the spot. My other friend who got the Satay said that the amount of rice is quite a lot and also rated the dish a 7/10

The restaurant feels a little small with all the tables elbow to elbow. But the decor is quite eye...

Super cool new place in the Chinatown area. This is a Thai x HK Cafe fusion restaurant, which I've never seen before! The menu is very well thought out and has a good selection of what you would see from a Thai restaurant or HK Cafe - such as baked rice, stir fry dishes, brick toast - amongst many others. The prices are reasonable, maybe on the higher end for a HK cafe but it is also in Downtown Toronto so it's not unexpected. My friends and I shared a couple items, and I enjoyed them all. We had the Crispy Shredded Sweet Potato Fries, Banana Roti, Tom Yum Noodle Soup, Fried Pork Chop, Coconut Milk Pudding, and Baked Cheese with tomato sauce beef. I highly recommend the baked cheese and banana roti, and the sweet potato fries were super unique as pictured. The Tom Yum soup was good, but a bit hard to share and not too special. My friend had the fried pork chop, which I didn't get to try, but it looked delicious and came with a green onion ginger sauce. I also tried the thai iced tea and it was very refreshing, and the price is great ($4.99). Overall we spent around $100 for the meal for 4, which is good. I'll definitely be back if I find myself in the area, and once they open for good - as it's currently a soft opening (open until 10pm!)
