One star review specifically for Jacob, the "general manager."
I called back and forth bar, spoke to Jacob, regarding a reservation for a group of 80 people. This is a social group that I run for people that are new to vancouver. Jacob was incredibly rude, would not let me make a reservation on a Thursday night, which is usually a slow night for any bar in Vancouver. Jacob was insistent on me spending $2000-3000 to rent out the whole bar which is not what I asked to do. I think asked what the smallest group of people would be that I could reserve for my group. He would not give me an answer like 20 people or 40 people. Jacob then preceded to increase his tone of voice when I asked simple questions, and then he ended up saying "I don't want to keep talking and be MORE rude." So then I was like so you realize you just stated that you are being rude and dont want to be more rude, to which then he went silent.
The way they treat customers here is completely ridiculous. I simply just wanted to bring my friends group to his bar. He offered me no alternatives and was incredibly rude during the phone call. He literally could have been like we can't accommodate a group of 80, maybe another day, but he actually refused my whole reservation and began to brag how restaurants book out his whole bar for parties.
I am just shocked that the bar in the worst location in gastown treats people like this. This bar is right next to E Hastings street which is the large homeless encampment in Vancouver, and it's simply not safe to walk around this area in the night time.
As long as Jacob is around I will never step foot in this bar. As new bars open in Vancouver this place will become a thing...
Read moreCame here last night for the first time ever. Had probably the worst customer service experience ever. Thought I’d check the Google Reviews to see if anybody else has experienced this - many have.
To the Asian bartender that wears glasses: I sincerely hope that whatever causes you to treat guests with such disrespect, I hope you find the healing you need. You have so much hate in your heart and clearly it’s been going on for a long time as several other people have reported your behaviour as well. I speak with truth when I say that I hope you find help. There are some people in the world who are just born with the sinister energy you give off but if that’s not the case with you and there’s something in your life causing you to act that way - I hope you can fix that and turn your life around.
If I were a social justice warrior I’d probably hop in a bunch of Facebook groups to warn people to never come here but I don’t have the time or energy at the moment. I’ll definitely spread the word among people I know that this place is ruined by miserable people. To the next person who has this experience and reads this review: just look at how the bar “owner” responds to criticism. It’s a joke. I’m sure a local news outlet would love to spread awareness on this story. If they happen to delete their responses to criticism just let me know - I took screenshots! :)

Read moreIt was my first time going to this bar with a group of friends, we got a table and many drinks and started playing. We went on a tuesday night so it was not busy! me and one of my friends started playing on a table that was rented by someone else( we asked their permission before playing on their table and they were totally fine with it). After 10 minutes, one of the lady staffs that claimed to be the manager told me very aggressively that ping pong is not for free (p.s: we spent over 100$ for the table and drinks that I wish we never did!!) and you need to talk to me before playing on our tables! I told her that these people are fine with us using their table but the manager told us that we need to talk to her before using someone elses table( in a very rude tone)! It was very unprofessional of a way she talked to a costumer and they just lost 10+ costumers over that! She could've very nicely and politely inform me of the policies but she instead decided to be...
