UPDATED 2018/01/15: If you are craving Korean style BBQ, and lots of it, then this is the place to go to for bottomless pork belly, beef, and/or fried chicken wings! Unlimited chicken wings are only served during happy hours, but pork and beef are served any time. I believe there is a 1.5 hour time limit. For under $20/person, you can enjoy Korean meat, along with kimchi, rice, soy bean paste, onions, and lettuce. It can get greasy, and you might not eat as much as you would expect. It's a small place so I recommend going with 4 or less people :) ORIGINAL POST: I seldom come here whenever I want to indulge on some fat and infinite pork belly! For around $20, you can order grilled Pork Belly how much ever you want, which comes along with a bowl of rice, kimchi, and some veges! It's a small place and it can get busy quickly, so I always try to come here at around 3pm. There are a few other dish I tried as well, but they seem to be a bit sweet in general. If you are a fan of Korean 삼겹살, I strongly recommend this place!

The service was unbelievably terrible. The waitress told us to put down our number and would call us when the tables are ready. Later, 3 tables became empty but the waitress wouldn’t clean them for some reason so we had to wait outside for another 20-30 min when there were literally 3 empty tables. She knew we were waiting outside too. The other group finally lost patience and went in and sit down and the waitress didn’t say anything and took their order, but still left us outside waiting. -again, she saw us standing there looking inside. We finally went in and wanted to know why she left us waiting outside for 30 min when there were 2 empty tables and she was very rude and told us the tables weren’t ready yet and we would have to wait for her to call us. We told her we’ve been 30 min which should’ve been enough time for her to clean a table and she didn’t even apologize and insisted that we wait outside. Later she finally cleaned it which only took 30 seconds and confronted us again when we didn’t even say anything and told us she didn’t do it on purpose - no one said she did it on purpose. “I didn’t do it on purpose” “Yeah I know you didn’t do it on purpose” “But you said something to me when you came in?” She was again extremely rude and seemed very upset for no reason. She argued with us and said she was busy (she was not that busy. She decided to work on delivery orders and other trivial stuff instead of just taking 30 seconds to clean one table and letting us in instead of wasting our time for half an hour) and asked us if she could have just let us sit at a dirty table. Didn’t apologize at all. It was truly a ridiculous experience and it was unbelievable how unprofessional the waitress was - cleaning a table takes 30 seconds, but she decided to leave it there and watch us waiting outside in the cold for half an hour. She didn’t apologize at all for wasting our time for absolutely no reason and the whole time she was just rude and upset. Definitely don’t recommend this restaurant who treats customers with no respect. The food was mediocre...

Went to Damso for lunch with my partner today- the restauraunt was not too busy, three other tables seated while we were there. We ordered the AYCE pork belly and a yuzu lemonade. It comes with lettuce wraps, rice, soup, pickled radish, kimchi, marinated raw onions, and five pieces of grilled pork belly. The lettuce was fresh besides one part which had begun to decompose a bit, showing holes with brown spotting around them. The soup was delicious and the other fixing were all good too. The pork belly comes out hot and they provide tongs and scissors to cut the meat up. The meal was quite enjoyable, there is a strip of chewy hard meat at the bottom of each piece of pork belly, this didn't bother us for the most part- we ordered one more order of pork belly after the initial plate that came with our order and after we were done we had three small pieces of that underside left, they were extremely small- smaller than the size of a thumb. They were rock hard and inedible, we chewed on them for a bit and then decided to leave them, of the 10 pieces of pork belly we ate, three small parts of the last three were left on the plate and when I got up to pay, the server brought me back to the table and demanded that those three pieces be eaten, loud enough for the other three patrons to hear. I was quite full and while I probably could have threw them down without chewing because they were rock hard, I asked politely if I could leave it due to the circumstances. They told me that I would be charged if I didn't eat it and there was nothing they could do because it was store policy. I relented and decided to pay the fee, 5$ per 100 grams, I ended up being charged 1$ extra, which while not a lot made me upset on the principal, they also included an automatic gratuity and when I asked about it they told me it was included on all AYCE orders. I was not informed on this prior to ordering and saw no signage around the restaurant- this may be my fault for not reading the fine print on the menu I guess. I will never come back to this restaurant and suggest you...

I had lunch with one of my friends. He suggested Damso. Me, having never heard of it, said let's do it. I'm usually up for anything new and also always on the lookout for the next best hangout spot. Little did I know what I was getting into. Me and my friend ordered the all-you-can eat Pork belly, there's also a all-you-can eat pork and beef option too for just another $3. Wow is it worth it. I've never seen such big pieces of pork belly at a Korean place before, it's not your typical thin sliced ones these were big and had girth. Also the big pot of pork and tofu soup was a nice touch to the meal. May I also add that it comes with rice, lettuce leaves, seasoned thinly sliced white onions, some type of bean sauce and pickled radish. My favorite part of the meal was experimenting with what to add to what. I finally settled into my combo of pickled radish, onions, and pork belly on a lettuce wrap; and boy was it delicious. Although the place is quite compact its definitely a worthwhile visit, only only cause its a hotspot for Koreans but the unlimited amounts of delicious food you can order. Did I mention also that it's on Denman? you can totally have a nice stroll after the meal to English Bay if you wish.

Update: August 19, 2024

Apparently the AYCE pork belly is limited to one hour. With a surcharge if you don't finish any pieces.

Anyways, me and my friend usually come here for the Gamgutang. Honestly, I have never found a better place for it. My friend who has also been to Kota says the same. This time when we went we noticed that the pork pieces were bigger and meatier. Still the same original price.

The service was really good too. Went around 12:30pm on a Monday. The server asked if she could refill our side dishes. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Will always be back for their Gamgatang. Best in the city, perhaps even best in...
