Dingding Restaurant — Restaurant in Vancouver

Went for lunch with my mother. Ordered a fried rice and some chili wonton. Table was sticky. Didn't refill tea. Food was not to my taste. BUT the worst part is when I was ready to pay. The waitress forced me to pay tips.

I saw the bill and had my cash ready to pay. I am certain she saw me with cash in hand. But she picks up her card machine and clicks a bunch of buttons, then shows me the price which was higher than the bill I saw. I asked her "why is it this price?" And she had the audacity to tell me "service charge". Like, excuse me? You can just add service charge on your own? It was 2 people meal. Why is gratuity included? There's no sign or anything? And no service. I was extremely upset. So I went to grab more cash and I was taking some time to find coins. And then she had the guts to tell me, it's ok round down np. What??????...

we were the only ones there, and the wait time was ridiculously long. The food wasn't good, and the service was unkind and unfriendly. they stare at you as you order, putting pressure on you. they dont have extra things such as lime for stir fry noodles, etc. they frequently ask "are you ready to order," giving you no time to order. the food was expensive and wasnt flavourful at all. they always gave dirty looks at us, and had a very cold attitude. after we finished dining and asked for the bill and payed, they forced us to tip them, and wouldnt let us go if we didnt tip. thats what made us angry. the fact that they asked and forced us to tip. they even had the audacity to stare me down and give me the stank eye as we left. the washrooms also smelled bad and were dirty. would never come back, and you shouldnt either. 1/10,...

Spicy cucumber, large portion, crunchy cucumbers, oh my

Tomato beef noodle soup, flavorful tomatoey hearty soup base with plenty of chewy noodles and tender beef chunks

Egg wrap shrimp rice. Would have preferred the rice to be hot but it was served at room temperature. Shrimp were small and firm with a nice egg drop sauce.

Steamed dumplings, skin was a little mushy for my preference but the filling was fresh and well prepared with a good ratio of meat to other ingredients (vegs).

Like a child during xmas, waiting with anticipation to open their presents and was pleasantly surprised with the dishes served, don't judge a book...
