I wouldn’t even give one star. I go to church seeking peace and solace, especially during difficult times. In such moments, I try to understand and listen to God's teachings, striving for inner peace. I attend Mass daily and purchase Living with Christ every month to fully immerse myself in reverence and focus during Mass. The church itself provides great comfort and consolation, and every Mass brings tears to my eyes, as I feel my burdens being lifted.
However, the problem lies with a staff member who sells religious items at the church. Her rude, arrogant, disrespectful, and condescending behavior constantly wounds me. When I see her, my sense of peace is shattered, and I try to avoid her by using a different entrance to the church. Yet, I had no choice but to encounter her today to purchase the December issue of Living with Christ. Despite waiting, she ignored me and dismissed me with her rude attitude. This caused me to lose my composure and leave the church mid-Mass.
If this woman is a paid staff member, it infuriates me to think that sacred donations are wasted on her. Even if she is a volunteer, it is unacceptable for someone like her to repeatedly hurt those who are already struggling emotionally. I believe such a person, who acts more like an obstacle than a help to others, has no place in a sacred environment like this church. While I don’t know how she behaves toward others inside the church, my experience has been enough to prompt this review as a plea to reconsider her role.
Today, after encountering her, I left the church and crossed the street to an Anglican church. At first, I didn’t even realize it was an Anglican church; I simply went seeking solace. However, I was warmly welcomed, and the kindness and open-hearted conversations I experienced there stood in stark contrast. As a lifelong Roman Catholic of 50 years, someone who has cried and laughed within this faith, I now find myself contemplating a move to the Anglican Church, Mormonism, or another denomination every time I see this woman.
I write this review in the hope that this "demon" stops tarnishing the sanctity of the church. If anyone reading this is considering going to this church, please do so, but be aware of the woman who sells religious items in the foyer. I write this to prevent her behavior from further distorting the essence of true Roman...
Read moreIt's been a while since I last visited, but I do not regret coming back. The mass helped me reflect and served as a good reminder to continue loving myself, forgiving others, and staying strong and true. A meaningful homily can uncover the goodness within us and remind us that there are still people who believe in a society that cares about something.
The good news is that you don't have to bring paper money to the church if safety is a concern; you can swipe a bank card against a machine by the rosary shop at the entrance, next to the wall, to make a donation. I am happy that this option is available. The 8 PM Mass on Sundays is my favorite. I will be back again. Thank you to the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary for the inspirational and uplifting words of the Lord, which give people strength, courage, and hope, while reminding us to do good in our daily lives.
Last but not least, I absolutely enjoy listening to the choir during mass!
A Year Ago Review: I appreciate the diverse ethnic backgrounds of the people who come to pray together here, as well as the variety of priests who conduct the mass, even though the 8 PM mass on Sundays is held in English. The choir sings beautifully, though I wish I could join in on most of the songs. It’s also nice to see a security guard from another religion who protects the church during the 8 PM mass. If trouble arises, you can always count on him to help everyone feel safe.
1 Year and 6 Months Ago Review: This is a beautiful place to hear the word of God and offer prayers of forgiveness and hopeful intentions for those who have wronged you. The mass here brings me peace of mind and grace, allowing me to maintain faith that God will grant me truth and justice throughout my life journey. Thank you for the beautiful sermon today. God bless this world with genuine love for all...
