My family and I enjoyed our visit to BC Momo. It was my parents' first time trying Nepalese food and we were taking a while deciding on what to order, but the staff was very patient and didn't make us feel rushed. I ordered the jhol veg momos and a masala chai and also tried some of the chili paneer and garlic naan. The heat levels on the food were lower than I was expecting; my medium jhol momos tasted like mild or medium mild to me with just a touch of heat, and the mild chili paneer had no heat at all even though I would've expected a little bit of a kick even on the "mild" version of this dish. I think the chili paneer would've been better with a touch of heat to round out the sweetness of the sauce, but even so it was pretty tasty. The jhol momos were great and unsurprisingly my favourite thing that I tried! Even though they weren't as spicy as I expected, the broth was still flavourful. Lots of cilantro. The momos themselves were cooked very well - tender but not difficult to break into. I liked the garlic naan; it was a little on the crispy side but not burnt, not too buttery but very garlicky. The masala chai was also very good - just strong enough. I was given the option of sugar or no sugar, I chose no sugar. The portions were just the right size - satisfying but not too big to...

I have to understand BC Momo may have nothing to do with the former tenant Chakra, but I couldn't get rid of my high expectations: indeed I was spoiled.
The weekday lunch buffet ($17) spread was a bit smaller than Chakra’s. The salad was only sliced carrots and cucumbers. The sweets were only cut fruits and grapes. Chakra had Caesar salad, mouse cake in cups, rice pudding, but not here.
Chakra also included baked to order naan in the buffet price, but not here.
They had however some other items Chakra didn't have: fried veg noodles and stir fried paneer and chicken. The fried noodles were shockingly similar to Japanese yakisoba, both in texture and flavor.
The positives were they had many condiments, like mint sauce, tamarind sauce, achar, etc. The food was replenished promptly.
The most disappointing point was that food was less than lukewarm: not only about the pleasure of eating, but it is also unsafe. When the tandoori chicken drumsticks were replenished from the kitchen, they were already cold, like having them pulled from tandoor more than an hour ago.
This is the easiest point to fix and improve the buffet. Use an air fryer to reheat those tandoori chicken.
I don't think I'll go back for a while. Amex...
